The cafe is open

Morning all. The cafe is open, the kettle is on and the coffee machine starting up.

There is water and fruit juice for those breastfeeding, with a ginger biscuit on the side.

I was thinking waffles this morning? Maybe scrambled eggs for those without a sweet tooth.

Do you serve alcohol? I could do with a wine!

crazycatlady7 · 28/02/2020 03:43

Scrambled eggs and crumpets sound good.

SocialMediaUser1511 · 28/02/2020 03:50

Can I ask why so many are awake? Is it usual for you / work related / child related etc?

crazycatlady7 · 28/02/2020 03:53

Feeding baby, he's currently waking hourly for a feed and now just waiting for him to be asleep enough to move him so I can dose for 30mins before repeating. Been 2 weeks like this.... keep hoping it will get better.

sashh · 28/02/2020 03:54

@SocialMediaUser1511

Once I wake up I can't go back to sleep, unfortunately that's often 2-4 am, so I serve virtual drinks and toast.

I know it's silky and no one gets the drink IRL but it amuses me in the wee hours

@Toomanygerbils

Red or white?

I have a rather nice Malbec, there is some cava in the fridge or I could do hot chocolate with vanilla vodka.

sashh · 28/02/2020 03:56

Silly not silky

Horny chocolate with vodka sounds amazing right now! Thank you x

SocialMediaUser1511 · 28/02/2020 03:58

@crazycatlady7 it does get better. But when you’re in the thick of it, it can be so lonely and you feel like you’re the only person in the world that’s awake!

@sashh I get insomnia due to a medical condition but it peaks when my health anxiety goes bananas. Which is currently is. Been up for 2 hours now and I doubt I’ll be back in bed within the hour.

Toomanygerbils · 28/02/2020 03:58

Omg hot, stupid autocorrect!! Ok I’m leaving now!

sashh · 28/02/2020 04:00

Where do you buy horney chocolate? LOL.

OK hot chocolate into the key board with vanilla vodka (it's really nice IRL).

@SocialMediaUser1511 I really hope so. He's such a good boy and easy baby apart from this. DH isn't great in the night as if I'm not quick enough to feed him he starts to moan waking him.... I could hear DH tutting as baby struggled to latch in his sleepy state so was complaining.

Loving the autocorrects.... at least it's making me giggle.

Think LB is asleep enough for me to doze.... see you all in 30 mins or so, but also hoping you can all get some sleep.

Savoretti · 28/02/2020 04:05

Please can I have hot choc too

Savoretti · 28/02/2020 04:06

Sooo overtired i cant sleep tonight. Then I get all stressy because I can’t sleep and then I definitely can’t sleep. Viscious circle

SocialMediaUser1511 · 28/02/2020 04:07

@crazycatlady7 men 🙄 they’re all the same. It’s a shame lack of sleep is so exhausting because nighttime sleepy cuddles are wonderful. Enjoy your doze.

Frownette · 28/02/2020 04:07

I'd try horny chocolate if I didn't have a dodgy stomach! Alas, I just fetched a cup of hot water.

No proper food either so couple of crackers?

I'm up because ex disturbed me after midnight and I've been thinking about things.

Also wondering how H&M will pay their security bill (can't be £20mill, surely?)

crazycatlady7 · 28/02/2020 04:11

I think we are in for a cluster feed... pass me a coffee!

@SocialMediaUser1511 I love the snuggles and we are co sleeping as it's easier right now.... I was trying to get LB in the crib more but ended up arguing with DH as I couldn't get LB to latch quick enough so he ended up crying. I'm moaning about DH but he does get up at 6am and takes LB until 8.30/9 for me to sleep (he was made redundant a few weeks ago so job hunting- but also a great help in some ways)

SocialMediaUser1511 · 28/02/2020 04:13

My DH never had to get involved due to BF and if he complained about a crying baby I’d probably clobber him lol. You’re nicer than I am! I never felt comfortable with co sleeping but we used a next2me crib. Invariably he was woken up but hey ho. He got to go straight back to sleep!

@SocialMediaUser1511 I didn't want to co sleep but it happened as it was the only way he would sleep, now I'm more confident as he's bigger and I don't worry as much, we have our snuggles and we both sleep much better. He does sleep in his crib from 7.30 until first wake up- was 3 but now anywhere from 11pm.

It also means I don't need to get up as can feed laying down.

I sound nicer than I am, I did tell DH to get out and sleep in spare room if he couldn't understand he's a baby.... so now get the tutting and not the talking.

sashh · 28/02/2020 04:22

Hands @Frownette a ginger biscuit.

OK hot chocolate all round, it's Suchard, vodka on the side for those that want it, scrambled eggs and toast ready now.

Can I join? Awoken by the doorbell going 20 mins ago. DH answered and it was a young girl on foot asking for directions. We live in a large housing estate that's quite cut off. It's concerning me! Wonder if she was drunk or injured? DH was too tired to notice and gave her the directions!

sashh · 28/02/2020 04:26

@Sleepyquest

Anyone can join, have a hot chocolate and some toast.

Brill thanks

Frownette · 28/02/2020 04:29

I slavery over food as well, because I can't eat it. Just looking at pasta and how to make vietnamese paper rolls. Yearning for a poached egg.
