Recommend me amazon clothes please?

Or from other retailers where I can order online and they deliver.

I've been housebound for over 2 years (long story) and starting to need new clothes. I think I'm a size 18 at the moment. Primary jeans that's based on.

Mainly knickers - I like a full brief, all cotton and machine washable.

Dresses - easy to put on and take off, preferable longer sleeves, around knee length. Scoop or v neck

Leggings

Vest tops and tees - again scoop or v neck preferable.

Long sleeved tops but not jumpers

Cardigans.

I'm in a "sort myself out" mood trying to be more organised.

Everything needs to be machine washable and easy care.

Neutral colours mainly, though I also like autumnal colours

I’d honestly avoid clothes on amazon, lots of it is cheap, Chinese import stuff that will fade and lose shape after a few washes.
All the big retailers have online shops - Markies for your comfy pants. I don’t know what sort of style you’re after, but perhaps Debenhams, hush, H&M, New look, just to name a few.
Be sure to search for discount codes, you’ll almost always get a new customer or a free delivery code :)

Graphista · 26/02/2020 17:11

Thank you. I'm just not experienced in ordering clothes online as I've always worried about sizing because it's a pain returning stuff and at the moment I can't return unless they send courier to collect!

I'll check those other retailers thanks

Next? M and s? I'd stay away from amazon

I like a high cut full brief style - Bridget Jones/granny pants I'm all about comfort these days

Next is great - free returns and the courier will collect from your door

CatFaceCats · 26/02/2020 17:15

Oh yes Next! I have a next account and pay £20 a year for free delivery (and I think!) collections!

spiderlight · 26/02/2020 17:16

Next is much much better than Amazon, which seems to specialise in cheap shiny plastic-feeling clothes in incomprehensible Chinese sizing. Next returns are dead easy as well.

BigFatLiar · 26/02/2020 17:19

Try jdwilliams for decent sizes. Briefs - sloggi. As for sizes, most have size guides check yourself with a tape measure.

Istical · 26/02/2020 17:26

Another vote for Next. They are consistent with their sizing and quality, and they're quick.

Graphista · 26/02/2020 17:35

Ooh next are popular! On that site now.

I need specific delivery dates too and tracking which is why I was erring towards amazon

Sainsburys Tu are good.

Amfeelingfline · 26/02/2020 19:06

Definitely smoggy for pants, I get the tai style and I love them, do not wear anything else anymore 😁

Amfeelingfline · 26/02/2020 19:07

*sloggy not smoggy

DobbyTheHouseElk · 26/02/2020 19:08

Next gets to you next day. You can track their courier.

Playdoughbum · 26/02/2020 19:11

And there’s tons of different brands on Next. Their customer services are brilliant too. One time I ordered flowers for delivery- a neighbour took them in and didn’t hand them over- they just sent another lot. No fuss.

FaithInfinity · 26/02/2020 19:17

I’ve had some mobility issues in the last year and done a lot of online shopping. Unfortunately I agree you should avoid Amazon. The sizing is often on the small side, the price changes for different colours and sizes and only select items are on Prime!

I’ve used Next, Boden, M&S and Brand Alley (charge for postage but often works out cheaper on branded stuff even with the postage!).?

deffonamechange · 26/02/2020 21:57

Best leggings in the world are mint velvet high waist...online.

Graphista · 27/02/2020 14:59

Thanks everyone I've been a bit naughty and I've put some things in a bag on next and I'm leaving it like that as only just registered as a customer and hoping I might get/find some vouchers or offers.

Thinking to order next week as that fits in with a schedule I have. But I'm more than happy to receive more recommendations here.

I’m loving next at the moment - went in for knickers yesterday and ended up buying loads! Agree Amazon is not great for clothes - I’ve ordered branded things for ds’s in the past and when they’ve arrived they’ve been obvious fakes!

SentimentalKiller · 27/02/2020 15:20

What about a traditional catalogue store. I buy online from next but also very and freemans. All are quick delivery and easy returns

Monstermummymum · 27/02/2020 15:29

Evans do loads of nice stuff. I also like Sainsbury's Tu and ASOS. I don't like next and find their sizes and shape unflattering.

Graphista · 27/02/2020 15:30

Do very and freeman's collect returns from you? Are deliveries trackable?

I'm liking that I can select a 1 hour delivery slot with next. One of the reasons I've not ordered yet is I've only found a few items I want, the extra delivery fee I want to make the most of.

Any particular items folk would recommend?

I've got in bag:

These pants

www.next.co.uk/g59228s24/323660#323660

Vest tops on a special offer and leggings.

It's comfy clothes I'm looking for which don't make me look too frumpy. I don't often see people but its nice for me to have things I look ok in on the odd occasion I do (even if it's only the grocery delivery dude!)

Sizes can be so tricky.

Primary 14-16 pants are too small but the 18-20 are too big.

How do next pants come up size wise? Especially interested in hearing from others a similar size/shape to me:

5'1" size 18 roughly apple shape with very soft belly. Decent legs though Grin
