Possessions sliding onto the floor when braking

Any tips?

I've just a car with leather seats and everything on the passenger seat slides off into the footwell practically every time I brake. Tiresome!

Haha, this reminds me of my DM when I was a child. She used to drive like a maniac (not saying you do) and every time she slammed the brakes on she'd punch me in the ribs. Reason being she got used to her handbag shooting off the passenger seat, and would always shoot a hand out to stop it. These were fabric seats, mind you.
