Milk, white, or dark?

Milk chocolate is best. Ideally quite a strong one. Waitrose do a 49% cocoa solids.

White chocolate is next best. Bit overly sweet.

Dark is unpleasant and only of any use if teamed up with a nicer flavour such as mint or orange.

Dark is best. Thin and crispy that snaps when you break it.
Milk is next. Then white. Milk and white can be a bit stodgy. But I’d eat them all 😀

Whatsnewpussyhat · 19/02/2020 19:18

White choc is vile.

A decent dark with a hint of orange or a dark choc toblerone for me.

Milk is nice depending on brand/taste (but never in the fridge)

MummySharn · 19/02/2020 19:19

First one to say I love white chocolade

Dark. Only ever dark.

isseywith4vampirecats · 19/02/2020 19:21

milk chocolate first
white chocolate
caramac chocolate still like this
don't like dark chocolate too bitter for me

DramaAlpaca · 19/02/2020 19:22

I only like dark chocolate, preferably 85%.

I find milk chocolate too sweet & white chocolate totally revolting.

damnthatanxiety · 19/02/2020 19:22

Dark first - but only a 70% one. More that this anti is too bitter for me.
Milk 2nd
White a close 3rd

TooMinty · 19/02/2020 19:25

Dark 85% please

TooMinty · 19/02/2020 19:25

Milk ok
White is awful

Lllot5 · 19/02/2020 19:29

I’ve never had a dark toblerone @Whatsnewpussyhat didn’t know such a thing existed.

BareBelliedSneetch · 19/02/2020 19:31

Dark, 70-80% is my first choice. Then high cocoa milk. I only like ridiculously expensive white chocolate, so usually don’t bother. But it can be absolutely delicious.

EggbertHeartsTina · 19/02/2020 19:32

Agree with you OP except I stopped liking white chocolate 9 months ago when my baby was born and I realised white chocolate tastes like how his sick smells Envy

Aquamarine1029 · 19/02/2020 19:33

White chocolate is absolutely disgusting.

RattyTerror · 19/02/2020 19:33

I hate dark chocolate, far too bitter! I love milk chocolate best but white is a close second.

undercoveraessedai · 19/02/2020 19:35

Chunky milk!!

FairfaxAikman · 19/02/2020 19:35

I'm a total chocolate snob and love bean to bar - with a preference for dark milk chocolate (but not the Cadbury dark milk shite).

Percentages only really tell you how much sugar is in a bar.

SapphireSeptember · 19/02/2020 20:30

Milk chocolate forever and always (but not too sweet.) Hotel chocolate 50% and Supermilk are good and Lidl do a rich milk chocolate that's quite nice. Also quite like the high cocoa percentage ones that Waitrose do, and Montezuma's do some nice flavoured ones.

Next is white, but ONLY Hotel Chocolat plain white chocolate. Again it's not too sweet, but very easy to eat. The one with vanilla seeds in it is quite nice but I prefer the plain one.

Last is dark chocolate, this time I'm switching it up, the only dark chocolate I like is Montezuma's. They do one with freeze dried cherries in it that is to die for. Grin

Witchend · 19/02/2020 21:36

Dark chocolate all the way here.
White chocolate should not be allowed to use the term chocolate.

Crinkle77 · 19/02/2020 21:48

I like any chocolate but my fave is dark with a hint of something else in it.

haba · 19/02/2020 21:51

I like white toblerone... but it's not really chocolate is it?

QuixoticQuokka · 19/02/2020 21:55

Dark, I buy 100% or 95% for myself.
Always happy with 70 to 90% as a gift.
Lindt chilli is nice too.
I will eat Lidl or Aldi milk chocolate on occasion, never Dairy Milk.
White chocolate is not chocolate.

Pinkyyy · 19/02/2020 21:59

I'm surprised how many people like dark chocolate, I find it really bitter tasting. I can have it when it's part of a desert or in after eights etc, but not on it's own.

I only like milk chocolate, though I don't eat it often because it's hard to find nice chocolate these days. Cadburys is vile. Any milk choc recommendations while we're on the subject?

sockittome123 · 19/02/2020 22:05

Oddly I don't mind Cadbury's but not too sure on Hotel Chocolat maybe I just have an uncultured pallette

My order of preference is:
Milk
White
Dark

FagAsh · 19/02/2020 22:07

White is a total abomination

AgeLikeWine · 19/02/2020 22:10

Dark, preferably. When I eat chocolate, I like to taste actual chocolate, not fat & sugar.

Some milk chocolate is ok. Lidl’s own brand is fine, as is Ritter Sport. Most British milk chocolate isn’t great. Galaxy, in particular, is actively disgusting.
