Milk, white, or dark?

Mysterian · 19/02/2020 19:15

Milk chocolate is best. Ideally quite a strong one. Waitrose do a 49% cocoa solids.

White chocolate is next best. Bit overly sweet.

Dark is unpleasant and only of any use if teamed up with a nicer flavour such as mint or orange.

Always milk. White and dark can get in the bin.

Eckhart · 19/02/2020 22:20

Gave up sugar recently. Always had an incredibly sweet tooth and would guzzle galaxy and white chocolate. Made sudden switch to Montezuma's Absolute Black. It's a totally different experience. I feel like I've moved into the X rated. This is NOT for children. But so intense and absolutely heavenly.

Dark.

I have shocked myself as I could never understand what my mum saw in a box of black magic (can you still get that?) when I was little.

Dark, pre-melted in a little pot, or at least semi melted, ideally with fruit or biscuits to dip, or a spoon of cream or ice cream.

If I'm eating it cold, in a bar form, then a good milk, 45 or 50%.

Hate white.

But actually my real favourite is gianduja, nothing else comes close.

Eckhart · 19/02/2020 22:36

@whathappenedtothelego Oh wow THANK YOU! Black chocolate melted with cream, and fruit to dip in it. Fantastic idea. Trying it tomorrow!

happymummy12345 · 19/02/2020 22:38

Dark is the best. Cadbury bournville is the beet chocolate ever

cece · 19/02/2020 22:54

Dark is best
Milk can be ok but not always
White 🤮

lakeswimmer · 19/02/2020 23:42

Dark for me.

Milk, if dark isn't available. White isn't chocolate and is inedible.

Xmasbaby11 · 19/02/2020 23:45

Milk all the way, but a nice quality one.

Dark is too bitter. I use it in baking but that's as far as it goes.

White is too sweet and not really chocolate.

Esspee · 19/02/2020 23:53

White isn't chocolate, not is milk. Chocolate is rich and dark and gorgeous.

HopeClearwater · 19/02/2020 23:58

Why are we even having this conversation when chocolate was ruined some years ago by replacing the milk fat with palm oil?

undercoveraessedai · 20/02/2020 00:00

@Pinkyyy I'm in the process of starting a chocolate company with two of my uncles because we couldn't find choc we really loved, had first taste tests yesterday and they were all lush, so hopefully once we're up and running, yes! (I am also going to be at least four times my usual size by the end of the year, I suspect!) In the meantime I am currently chain-eating chocolate oranges Blush

After further thought, still prefer chunky chocolate, anything milk caramel is def my all time fave. I don't have anything against white chocolate either, but not really a fan of dark Grin

AmazingGreats · 20/02/2020 00:01

Every time I eat any of them I end up thinking that the one I am eating is my favourite. I feel the same about watching my children sleeping. I go to DC1 and think, you are so wonderful how could anybody be more wonderful I know I shouldn't have a favourite but you are definitely my favourite. Then I go to DC2 and think the exact same thing. And then the same with DC3. And you end up thinking, I don't have a favourite child or a favourite chocolate I just love you all far too much. And you grow to just be big enough to love them all completely. You get to have a few favourites.

Don't get me started on cheese. Explains why my waist size is getting bigger as well as my soppy old heart

AmazingGreats · 20/02/2020 00:03

Unless it's Cadbury's. Cadbury's can FOTTFSOFOAFOSM

Franklymydearidontgiveadam · 20/02/2020 00:07

I love dark chilli chocolate.
Milk chocolate has to be the marabou from IKEA!
White is only ever acceptable on a raspberry pavlova.

managedmis · 20/02/2020 00:44

Dark, with fleur de sel

Has to be fridge cold

Hairwizard · 20/02/2020 12:17

Im loving the willies cacao single estate choc. Dark all the way for me.
After that its lindt or g&b. Love the lindt with sea salt or mint. Milk tastes weird and white is just no.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 20/02/2020 12:23

White chocolate is the work of Satan!

I like both milk and dark, but can take or leave - preferably leave - the very darkest type.

winterinmadeira · 20/02/2020 12:23

Milk for sure. Then dark then white. White is really too sweet for me

InOtterNews · 20/02/2020 12:24

Dark - always. 70% or higher

TwoZeroTwoZero · 20/02/2020 12:26

Dark is far too bitter for me. We only use that in chilli or tacos.
White chocolate is sickly sweet. A small amount is OK but I can't eat too much.
Milk chocolate is my favourite. I eat loads of it and it's my downfall.

Sammi38 · 20/02/2020 12:33

Milk, definitely.

There’s a dark chocolate called mazuma? I think, and it is the most foulest thing I’ve ever had in my life.

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 20/02/2020 12:35

Milk

White

But never dark 🤮 don’t really get the point in dark chocolate, it’s bitter and horrible chocolate is meant to be sweet!

Absolutepowercorrupts · 20/02/2020 12:37

Definitely dark, same as a pp, dark chocolate Tobelerone, can be found in airport duty free shops.
Yes to white chocolate smelling like baby's sick, milk chocolate....no thanks.
The best dark chocolate is Divine dark chocolate with Himalayan pink salt...the most fabulous chocolate ever.

Spied · 20/02/2020 12:39

White. Milkybar. Can't be beaten Grin
