The boy done good - Valentine appreciation thread!

Last year my boyfriend and I had only been dating a few weeks, & couldn't spend the day together.

This year he's made me a personalised photo card with my all time favourite song lyrics printed in it, plus 12 red roses and a silly mug.

I think he might be a keeper.

Anyone else have a lovely Valentine?

Please can the VD haters keep away...I'm hoping to keep this a warm, fuzzy thread!

Three years ago I had a proposal, bunch of roses, chocolates and a card......this year, nearly two years later I had a card, a heartfelt one, with an amazing verse, he thought himself, and even drawings, which was least expected.........this year we called ourselves stupid nicknames that three years prior would never have dreamed of. Its not what gift either you have reviewed, it's being in love what counts. My husband has MS I got him a photobook of the last 18 months of memories as he forgets due to his illness. Its not about material things...... Its about the love you have for one another. Xx (PS reader he forgot he proposed, yet still remembers our wedding day, for now)

DH had taken time off so we could go out for a Valentines lunch but DD was off school for 3 days & I had to work Friday to make up the hours I’d missed 😔. However he came home on Thursday night with a dozen beautiful dark red roses, a big box of chocolates & a card.

I had a Skype meeting till 8pm - DH had a very nice dinner (helped by M&S) with a bottle of Prosecco on the table at 5 past.

I think he might be a keeper ...well, we've been married over 30 years so actually I'm pretty sure of itGrin

It probably sounds totally unromantic that my husband bought roses, chocolates and card late thursday night from the Tesco express down the road (made no secret of the fact he was going for a walk, at 10 pm), but for me it's the thought that counts, the fact he arranged them in a vase for me for when I got up yesterday, the fact he got them for me at all because he knew it would make me happy. Possibly easily pleased but meh!

I had chocolates and card waiting for him when he got home from work, which also went down well (and quickly in the case of the chocolates!).

We are really short on money this year but we both got each other a card and some chocolates.

The real surprise was my gorgeous colleague got us a whole meal to make for tonight, steaks, fancy potatoes, veg, pudding AND my fave wine, plus a little card. She is the sweetest, most kind and thoughtful lady. She knew we couldn't afford to make it special.

She left it on my desk for me. That's surely what Valentine's Day is all about? She made me feel so special and cared for.

I made it very clear, right from the start that I don't do Valentine's Day but he does so has always got me a little something.
This year he's whisked me away for a 2 night city break - has been incredibly stressful recently between work & teen DDs mental health so he felt I needed a break. 💖

We were meant to spend the day together then go to an event at the NHM. Instead my son who clearly thinks he’s a monkey took a tumble down the stairs which ended with a broken arm, a huge egg on his head and concussion so I spent the day and night in hospital with him, we only left at 1:30pm today.

He delivered us clothes, some toys for my son, my insulin and a wash bag. He knew I wouldn’t get fed so he brought me breakfast this morning.

Got home and he’d cleaned the mess I had left in the kitchen, done some laundry, sorted the cat out and organised something for lunch and dinner today. Had a new truck for my son so he would happily play with him for ages so I could get some sleep. Not long woken up and he’s delivered pancakes in bed.

Boy did good.

I got a card ... my friend got a top of the range Audi !

We don't usually make a big deal of Valentine's Day, swapped cards in the morning. Dh came home with a bunch of roses, a nice candle and a packet of Percy Pigs 🐷 🥰.

For the first time we actually went out! We went to something called the Pudding Club and I’m still fat and full now

He got me a single rose, a cat shaped cuddly toy, a pillow with a cat on it and two chocolate oranges. He would have got me more flowers but to be fair he gets really bad hay-fever and anytime I've had flowers before he can barely breathe so one is enough without killing him. Grin
