I feel like crap, could sleep on demand and am very grumpy with it!

Still wheezing here 6 weeks in!

justasking111 · 14/02/2020 18:40

Someone on her went to GP got antibiotics and steroids I think after six weeks you should see your GP.

WhoWants2Know · 15/02/2020 18:27

I thought I had passed the stage where I needed Tena Ladies in case of coughing.

Sadly, I was mistaken.

JhustJenny · 16/02/2020 15:02

How’s everyone today?

Still mostly in bed, 2 boxes of tissues down, but feeling very marginally better. Only 7 days in though. Still earache and tinnitus, but dizziness is a little better - I can get out of bed for a couple of hours but then I need to lie down again. The rest of the family are still fine. Thank heavens for DH!

Who I am so glad it is not just me Blush

I thought my pelvic floor was fine (c-section, lots of Pilates, no symptoms running or laughing etc). Fine for past three years. And now I am leaking a couple of times a day after every bad coughing fit, even if I have just been to the toilet. I hate it. I have totally lost my sense of taste and smell too (sinuses) so am paranoid I smell of wee.

ChristmasCarcass · 16/02/2020 17:16

I keep telling myself that if I am coughing hard enough to make myself vomit on a regular basis, the fact I am also making myself wee isn’t necessarily an indication of any pelvic floor problems.

Maybe everybody would wee if they coughed violently enough (have also pulled a muscle in my chest, and strained my abs).

Also suffering here down in London, I have never felt so poorly ! I cried in the drs surgery on Friday evening and managed to get an apt for this morning which has been a life saver. I’ve been prescribed antibiotics and a steroid spray. Sudafed wasn’t touching my symptoms!
I can thoroughly recommend steaming with olbas oil though for a little relief !

MinesaPinot · 16/02/2020 17:36

Yes me! It came on so suddenly. I came home from ballet class the Thursday before last and felt as though I had a sore throat, went to work on the Friday but had a tickly cough and then it knocked me off my feet for the weekend. Had two days off and then went back but still don't feel 100%. I'm not a 'cold-y' person as a rule, but this is horrible. I'm still coughing (and yes, I've got the stress incontinence as well!) and I'm getting a headache everytime I cough. Have consoled myself looking at handbags in the Guess sale.

BinkySodPlop · 16/02/2020 17:47

Rough. Am putting Vick's on my feet to try and stop coughing at night. Head still feels like it's in a vice. And I've now run out of decongestant tablets. Thankfully the storm has passed over this bit of the UK and I can go out tomorrow to get some more, but tonight will be propped upright in bed, I think!

JhustJenny · 16/02/2020 21:29

I have a bloody cold sore now as well as the rest 😠

OP posts:
ADealingMummy · 16/02/2020 21:46

It’s horrible. Coughing, bit of a sore throat, really bad head and neck ache. I also had a day and night of being very hot, the bedsheets felt like a furnace, followed by the chills.

RoseMartha · 16/02/2020 22:07

This is possibly a different virus but I have had a hacking chesty cough thing and sinus pain in my face since Tuesday.

Kids have had it three weeks now, it was a wonder I didnt get it sooner.

iloveredwine · 29/02/2020 16:16

Is everyone still suffering? I thought I was getting better but earache, cough etc all back

Rosecatter · 29/02/2020 16:22

Started with this last night. I feel like shit and I've only just got out of bed (to lie on the sofa)
Sounds like I have all sorts of delights to comeSad

MamaBearThius · 29/02/2020 16:23

Also in East Midlands and feeling rough =( sorest of sore throats, painful cough, giant glands and overall feeling of bleh. Doesn't help that I'm 26 weeks pregnant. Hope it goes off soon I'm sure it's making me feel sick

Fredastaireatemyjamsandwich · 29/02/2020 16:59

Have had it for a few days now. In all seriousness, it could be corona, as my day job involves me being in face to face contact with overseas customers, the majority from South East Asia. I use Hand sanitiser and wash my hands after touching people’s passports, phones etc. As I understand it, you don’t necessarily feel like death warmed up if you have it. And that you are most contagious 14 days before your symptoms appear, so there could be a few thousand people walking around with it.

longwayoff · 29/02/2020 17:15

Yes. For bloody weeks.

lucymaudmonty · 29/02/2020 17:19

Has anyone had what I have.....

I had bacterial throat infection a few weeks ago....it was awful and took 2 course of antibiotics to fix it

Now I'm over that but feel like I have low grade sort throat, swollen glands, achy, a bit low on energy been like this for week...!

I'm worried there is something seriously wrong with me!

Jellykat · 29/02/2020 17:25

Mine keeps going away, then as soon as i get tired it creeps back..
Sinus infection, dry cough, earache, headache, sore throat..
I've had it on and off for 6 weeks now!

Rosecatter · 29/02/2020 18:01

It's not at all like me to be totally wiped out by something like this

Allmyfavouritepeople · 29/02/2020 21:08

I've got it again, literally had three days last Tues, Weds and Thurs where I felt healthy then woke up croaky on Friday and feel pretty rotten today. Feel out of breath which isn't unusual for me but obviously more of a worry right now!
Won't be going in on Monday unless I feel radically better tomorrow, travel by public transport and work in a busy environment. Don't fancy spreading this or catching anything worse.

JhustJenny · 29/02/2020 22:05

Yes @Jellykat exactly! It flares up when I get tired, and I’ve had to prioritise what I have the energy for during the working week

OP posts:
Waxonwaxoff0 · 29/02/2020 22:15

I think I'm starting with something. I keep coughing, I feel like mucus is building up. Ugh.

Jellykat · 29/02/2020 23:11

Yes JhustJenny prioritising where the little energy goes has almost become the norm!

Reassured that others have said they're breathless at times too.

My main problem is trying not to cough on the bus to work, in case people think i've got something much worse.. then by about 5.00 i get really shaky but still have to get home, its a nightmare
