I feel like crap, could sleep on demand and am very grumpy with it!

OH had this for the last month still has the snots using nasal spray, it is grim. I am over it now thank goodness.

Crunchymum · 13/02/2020 22:18

Just finally getting over it, started mid January.

Was rotten for first week (ironically had a weeks annual leave) but been more "walking wounded" since.

Other than a possible gum infection, I'm on the up now. Fingers crossed

nobodyputsbabyinthecornor · 13/02/2020 22:27

@jhustjenny if you have white spots on your throat it sounds like strep throat & you will need antibiotics. I've just finished my 3rd antibiotic in a Row for it . It was the sickest I've ever felt

Mouseylu · 13/02/2020 22:31

6 weeks and counting. Grim.

TonOfLead · 13/02/2020 22:37

Oh bollox. I've started with a sore throat today. I haven't got all this to come have I?

Sad
Dylanpickle · 13/02/2020 22:38

Oh yes, I'm on week 3. The first weekend was awful. Sudafed has been a life saver.

I still have one blocked ear and it is causing tinnitus. My head feels like it has been crushed in a vice, all my teeth on one side hurt at one point.

DP has also had a milder head cold, but as a PP mentioned developed a viral rash.

3 other members of the family have had it, and they found it grim also.

BMW6 · 13/02/2020 23:11

3 of my 4 siblings and their spouses and children have had it over the last month, different parts of UK.

Very nasty virus, long lasting and debilitating. Somehow I've managed to escape it, despite having seen one sibling infected a couple of times during infectious period.

Belindabelle · 13/02/2020 23:13

Yes me. This is day 9 and I am just about back to normal.

Gingerkittykat · 13/02/2020 23:27

Me, I feel horrible this is definitely nastier than normal bugs.

I'm onto week 3 now, the first few days were awful with sore ears, temperature and a hacking cough but it eased off.

The cough has not gone though and I have been getting days when I'm ok and other when I am randomly shivery and sore.

I had a good few days with nothing but the cough left and today have felt a lot worse again. My sinuses hurt even after olbas oil to try and clear them and I feel sick and shivery with a high temperature again.

Oneliner · 13/02/2020 23:29

No

Patienceisvirtuous · 14/02/2020 04:33

I’m just starting to improve after a couple of weeks of it. Started off with sore throat on a morning, then came loads of yakky phlegm and snot and horrible morning headaches (til I cleared said snot etc).

iloveredwine · 14/02/2020 05:06

Yes I've had it for the last week. Cant sleep due to coughing, sore throat ear and teeth. Aching muscles in legs and hot and shivery

85notout · 14/02/2020 06:06

Yes, it's awful. I thought it was clearing up last night but now I've got that sinus headache.

feesh · 14/02/2020 06:07

I’m 3500 miles away from you lot and my kids have it too. Gotta love this globally connected world!

JhustJenny · 14/02/2020 06:31

@nobodyputsbabyinthecornor - they normally tell me it’s viral 😫 if it doesn’t clear up I’ll try and get some antibiotics (although it’s nigh on impossible to get through to my gp surgery these days)

Poor us! Hope we’re all over it soon Smile

You may have tonsillitis too if you have white spots on the back of your throat. Maybe worth giving GP a call x

copperoliver · 14/02/2020 06:40

I went to the GP yesterday, got antibiotics and steroids, she said there is a really bad virus around at the moment. Hope you all feel better soon. X

newlifenewme2020 · 14/02/2020 07:35

I have had this and tried a netty pot for the first time after hearing about them on here.
OMG the relief

Wifeofbikerviking · 14/02/2020 07:51

@LoisLittsLover oh no..when my son was little, maybe about 6 months I got an awful cold and definitly the worst bit was coughing when he was falling asleep on my breast at night 😣 hope your all better soon

DanceDanceDance80 · 14/02/2020 09:56

I've had this since sunday.... awful sore throat, headaches, tired and ear ache. The sore throat isn't as bad but still hurts. The ear ache is horrible and I also suffer from tinnitus.

Oh I'm from east mids!

WhoWants2Know · 14/02/2020 15:59

You know, I'm not even sure how many times I've coughed until I peed myself this week. That's not a good place to be.

Bellaphant · 14/02/2020 16:15

East mids here too, been sick since last Tuesday! Headache, sore throat, hacking cough until I'm sick, suddenly got a runny nose and occasional ear ache. Feel stupid and tired.

chocolatespiders · 14/02/2020 16:20

Yes I have and sainburys £1.25 decongestant tablets have been a lifesaver as has olbas bath from home bargains.
My daughter also benefits from Asda vapour baby bath.
Its rubbish, least the weather this weekend is the staying home snuggly kind!

mbosnz · 14/02/2020 16:38

I'm on my sixth week of it. Sixth. . . the only bright side is that I'm losing weight.

justasking111 · 14/02/2020 18:12

Reading this thread said to OH right GPs on Monday, he was lying in bed last night, blowing, hacking, coughing for nearly an hour it is only the snot that remains but so much of it... He can see the nurse rather than the GP ours can prescribe.
