Did your second baby arrive later than first?

DC1 was born at 39+5.

I'm now 40+1 with DC2 and absolutely no signs of impending labour. I never expected this!

Saw midwife yesterday and she said the head is still high, could something be wrong?

How long am I going to have to wait? It didn't really cross my mind that I may need to be induced second time but now I'm wondering if I should prepare for it mentally.

Yes he was, and I had to be induced. DS1 was 2 days before due date, DS2 was 2weeks after.

I don't know if it's relevant but he had a really big head so possibly couldn't engage. He made it out though, fit and well!

They both arrived three days late as did DC3, very weird!

Yes, DC2 was 10 days late. DC1 6 days late.

If you needed to be induced the first time, then possibly the reason behind it is the same?

Yes, I was 7 days over with my first and ten days with my second. Sorry that's probably not what you wanted to hear!

Yes. Due date instead of 36 weeks.

DC1 was 3 days early.

Dc2 was 10 days late - started to progress the day I went in to be induced!!!

Only slightly earlier. Ds was induced at 42 weeks, DD was 9 days late naturally

First was born at 37+5 and second at 40+6. Both natural labours. I didn’t have any sense I was about to go into labour with 2nd. He wasn’t all that engaged, no signs really. I woke up a little crampy at 6am and he was born at 3. You still have plenty of time.

No, second was 4 days earlier than my first. But my third didn’t come until 42 weeks after 2 failed inductions! No rhyme nor reason to it.

My experience has been different.
First came at 41+3 and second came at 35.

There is no logic to childbirth and due dates. It's basically just a guess and the child will come when it wants unless you are induced. Fingers crossed baby comes soon

First was born at 40+1, second I was induced at 40+2 and he was born the following day.

My first was born 3 days before due date and 2nd was a week after. Dc2 was almost 2lbs heavier.

Yes, dd arrived on her due date (baby no 1) and my ds arrived 5 days late

Always prepare yourself mentally as you never know what is going to happen, all pregnancies and babies are different.

My 1st I was induced and had him 41 weeks.
My daughter natural labour at 41 week's.
Pregnant with my 3rd currently 35 weeks and I've been told I will be booked in for a section or to be induced by 39 weeks.

First was 39+3, second 39+4 by two hours. So yes, technically he kept me waiting longer.

Yes - by a big margin..

Yep, first was on the due date, second was 41+3

Second is now 19 and has terrible timekeeping, I put it down to that, lol

First 3 weeks early.
Second one week early.
Was told by everyone second would be just as early (god knows why) so as soon as I went past 37 weeks I felt ‘overdue’.
So silly!! They could come any time!

First one four days overdue, second, six days early.

DC1 6 days late
DC2 10 days late (face to pubes presentation, turned in labour)
DC3 12 days late (induced, born face to pubes)

Yes, 4 weeks after!
First was 3 weeks early, second 1 week late - longest 4 weeks of my life!

Thank you everyone. So, I'm totally normal then! That's good to know. I hope she gets her skates on soon though.

This worries me a little - I know from the scan that this baby's head is measuring large. However my first baby's head measured even bigger - right at the very top of the scale when born. Trying to think positive
