Is the wind keeping anyone else awake?

Can’t sleep! Seven week old DS is sleeping in his basket so I SHOULD be getting some much needed rest but the wind has blown up again after dying down and it’s so loud
Just has what sounded like another load of torrential rain so undoubtedly the conservatory roof is leaking again like it was this afternoon...

I thought we were done with it down south after today as the weather warning expired at midnight but perhaps not!

Oh dear - can you put something on really quietly and get a cup of tea? Would that wake son up?

Standrewsschool · 10/02/2020 03:48

The wind, rain and a cold are keeping me awake. Wasn’t expecting the torrential road we had an hour ago.

willowmelangell · 10/02/2020 03:51

I'm here. In the West and it is howling wind and rain on and off. Noisy.

And now we have snow forecast for tomorrow.

Frownette · 10/02/2020 03:54

Actually I did just hear a shopping trolley thud down the road! Can't hear the wind much though

Dennisreynoldsduster · 10/02/2020 03:56

A shopping trolley? That must have been loud!

I’ve just made a cup of tea actually :) I’m bloody freezing although I think it’s because I’m tired as DS is lovely and toasty so it’s not cold in here.

I wonder if it’s going to carry through to rush hour - DH has an important work thing in London and I’m wondering if he will be able to get to it as the trains were all screwed today.

Kind of jealous about the snow - although i know it’s a huge inconvenience for most!

Yep keeping me awake too. Haven't actually been to sleep yet and now totally wide awake.

monkeytennis97 · 10/02/2020 03:57

Yup... very windy here (south east). Peri menopause symptoms keeping me awake too (aching joints and anxiety)

mnthrowaway202020 · 10/02/2020 04:09

Same! But to be honest I can’t use the storm as an excuse as I’ve been having difficulty getting to sleep for the past couple of weeksBlush

copperoliver · 10/02/2020 04:11

Same as monkey Tennis. Oh the joys. X

LatteLover12 · 10/02/2020 04:19

I'm awake. Pregnancy insomnia and now nausea woke me up but the wind is howling here!

Contemplating going to make toast but I know it will be freezing downstairs!

Standrewsschool · 10/02/2020 04:24

I’m already downstairs.

Toast sounds like a good idea, but trying to loose weight.

stitchwitch85 · 10/02/2020 04:28

Wind keeping me awake, but not the sort that you’re talking about 💨😷 I think something I ate yesterday has disagreed with me! 😆😆

Peridot1 · 10/02/2020 04:32

The rain woke me around 1.30 and I’ve been awake since. Think I’ll be tired tomorrow.

LatteLover12 · 10/02/2020 04:33

I've given in. Making toast and drinking juice. Got to be at work at 8 😩

Standrewsschool · 10/02/2020 04:39

I’ve got to ‘get up’ it two hours time.

May try and go back to bed for an hour. I’ve been snuffling, sore throat, and runny nose all night, so now seriously thinking of taking a day off sick tomorrow.

LatteLover12 · 10/02/2020 04:41

Ah jeez, the dog heard the toaster! I now have company 😂

LatteLover12 · 10/02/2020 04:42

Do it @Standrewsschool you can't help being ill!

triptrapdollydumpling · 10/02/2020 04:53

I’m awake Sad

marblesgoing · 10/02/2020 04:55

I'm awake.

South west here.
Just got hit by another sideways lashing of rain and some big winds.

Just heard neighbours bin careering down the road.

Also already awake with bad insomnia due to a work meeting today I'm not looking forward to in a job I'm unhappy in

Riv12345 · 10/02/2020 05:06

I'm awake coming to end of my 2nd night shift xx

Riv12345 · 10/02/2020 05:13

Do a sicky standrewsschool Wink

Dennisreynoldsduster · 10/02/2020 05:15

Definitely do a sickie @Standrewsschool

DS just woke up for a feed and I’m just trying to settle him back down. He’s a little monster for night feeding, from 6pm to midnight he’s a total binge eater then seems to settle a bit more.

I just looked out of the window as it’s really noisy again and saw a bin blowing merrily down the road 😫 I fear for my roof tiles and rickety top floor office window
