Lets put the worst kids shows on this list

But the narrator of Thomas the tank engine is/was Ringo Starr. Or do you mean a different version.

Formermousemat · 06/02/2020 19:30

Live action American crap, the low level sitcom stuff. I've got nothing against American's or their culture, but the kids in some of those sitcoms are beyond obnoxious. The kids are always cheeky and wisecracking and the Dads are always idiots.

I thought I'd got away with it by not having the kids package on Sky, but we have Netflix and a few of them have made it on to there. I've had to ban them - they drive me potty and I'm sure it encourages my child to misbehave.

I remember the first time my four-year-old watched Rosie & Jim. He shrieked and hid behind he sofa and had nightmares about them. They were pretty creepy.

My daughter used to watch Zingalong circa 2003. It was dire. The woman simply couldn't sing and the storylines were bad.

I'm also of the camp who thinks Thomas the Tank Engine sucks. It's mind-numbingly boring and just dumb. He made Peppa seem a tad better.

Rollie Pollie Ollie was a kid's favorite in my house but it made no sense and had no real storylines and was just a waste of time.

Little baby bum on Netflix. My DD loves it. It's so weird.

BunnyandBee · 06/02/2020 20:08

Yeah I am just here to defend Peppa. Yes I can see how it is irritating in many ways, but I actually think they have a knack for explaining things.
So today my 5yr old stated that our shadows were long this morning because the sun is low in the sky. I asked her how she knew that and she said 'Peppa'. I also enjoy watching the expressions on the grown ups faces. It is quite knowing in many ways.

MushroomTree · 06/02/2020 20:11

Netflix has some truly weird shit on it. Little baby bum, Word Party, Winx Club...the list goes on. Oh and the one that's Russian but dubbed badly into English. Masha?

stayingaliveisawayoflife · 06/02/2020 20:17

Jamie and the magic torch. Loved it as a child watched it as an adult OMG !

NerdyBird · 06/02/2020 20:45

My dd likes watching random stuff on Netflix. Chip and Potato (nothing to do with vegetables) and an Indian (I think) one where there isn't really any speaking.
She went through a phase of watching Peppa after going off it for a while. I don't mind Peppa.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 06/02/2020 20:47

Little Baby Bum is soothing, in a "wtf was in that last spliff" sort of way.

Formermousemat · 06/02/2020 20:49

@MushroomTree Masha and The Bear? I find that quite enjoyable, but it is badly dubbed.

firstimemamma · 06/02/2020 20:53

Oh god my ds watches little baby bum on YouTube while I wash up sometimes! It's really weird but keeps him happy!

Runaround

Two teams of children would 'runaround' to areas on the studio floor to answer questions.

Hosted by Mike Read. An adult and notoriously 'blue' comedian.

"Run Araaaand Naaaaaow!"

ItsHAVEnotOF · 06/02/2020 21:03

Doodlebops. DD loved it when I was pregnant with 3rd baby and watched it every lunchtime after nursery. I had morning all day sickness and even the thought of bloody Mo, Rooney and whatsherface makes me feel nauseous.
I suffered the same affliction when I was pregnant the second time with Nina and the Neurons but I’ve got over that now.

Douberry · 06/02/2020 21:10

Mr Tumble, Justin's House etc... He makes my skin crawl. Utterly creepy man.

Zafari...post apocalyptic nightmare scenario. The giraffe-peacock Confused

HerculesMulligan · 06/02/2020 21:11

Me Too.

Eastie77 · 06/02/2020 21:20

Can someone help a settle a Miraculous Lady Bug argument in this house: is Hot Moth really Adrian's dad?

Hate Peppa. We saw a live show at the theatre and the narrator who played Peppa was a wide eyed woman who spoke in such a high pitched voice DD couldn't understand her. She seemed to be under the influence of drugs.

Mr Tumble...I get a bad vibe from him. I have a feeling he is controlling and mean spirited in real life and actually dislikes kids. No idea why as I've never met the fella but just a hunch. He's probably a perfectly nice manGrin

My background is West Indian and I'm afraid I don't see the point of Rastamouse. I cringe a bit when it comes on and don't encourage the DC to watch it.

I miss my childhood shows: Danger Mouse, Banana man and that witch..think it was Grotbags?

BlackWhitePurple · 06/02/2020 21:20

My DD loves Little Baby Bum! I don't see anything particularly weird about it, it's just animated characters singing nursery rhymes, isn't it?

I don't mind Peppa, it's quite funny in places.

We used to watch too much Bing. I hated him. Thankfully I've managed to steer the kids onto other things now.

TooGood2BeTrue · 06/02/2020 21:26

Nightgarden, Clangers, Abney & Teal, Gigglebiz (!!), Twirlywoos, Dumping Ground / Tracy Beaker, iCarly, kids bloggers who talk random s**t on YouTube - there are two twin girls aged about 11 who set themselves 'challenges' such as drinking gone off milk, also hate: Ryan's You Review.

TooGood2BeTrue · 06/02/2020 21:27

Meant Ryan's Toy Review

Icanttakethiscrapanymore · 06/02/2020 21:28

Bing! He’s such a arsehole ( he killed a butterfly and I’ve never forgiven him) poor flop.

My 4 year old niece likes to watch YouTube videos of people opening LOL dolls. That’s pretty awful. She also made me sit though one of someone colouring in Confused it was a hour long !!!!

GlummyMcGlummerson · 06/02/2020 21:28

Henry Danger is quite good but Chocca full of sexual innuendos to the point I can't believe it's allowed to air on a kids TV channel. Almost every scene has something inappropriate in it

GlummyMcGlummerson · 06/02/2020 21:35

And in Horrid Henry's defence he has completely shit parents who induce his tantrums with their endless nagging, forcing him to do things he doesn't like and openly favouring his brother. If he was real he'd be in jail by 19 and the parents would be the type to say "well it isn't us we raised him fine"

mathanxiety · 06/02/2020 21:48

PJ Masks - unspeakably horrible.

mathanxiety · 06/02/2020 21:50

YYY to Caillou, the whinging, overindulged little horror. How could I have forgotten him 😂
