Any podiatrists around? I have this lump on my 2nd toe. It feels like hard skin and is very painful
It looks yellowish, in the picture, but its actually quite pink. I thought maybe a bunion, but they seem to only be on the side of the foot. I can't look at any more manky foot pictures. Help!!!

I had one of these before, it's a corn. They are so painful. I bought corn medicated plasters, they burn the corn off. Had to do the course twice, by the end the corn fell off.

It's been there a while
It's been sore with your new yard boots
No blister

Likely to be callus/corn
So you need to remove the source of the pressure (your new boots) to let it settle.
No poking with needles

But..............it does look a bit red round the periphery so use some good old boiled salted water to bathe it . Keep a close eye and if it gets more inflammed seek help ( you'd most likely need a private Podiatrist , NHS are very limited)

You could see about having your boots stretched over that joint if they're leather ?

Thanks so much. I might just lop the toe off....

Is that a preferred option rather than changing your new yard boots ................? Wink

My boots are a thing of beauty....unlike my manky toe...

Its a bit of hard skin possibly with a corn underneath. Its a common place for it. You need to get a chiropodist to have a go at that with a scalpel. Should be easy enough to get off.
Get thee to a podiatrist, 5 minute job.

GeePipe · 01/02/2020 23:35

Looks like a corn/ soft corn. I had one once it was super squishy and weird so i stupidly put a corn plaster on it. The sailic (however its spelt) acid in it just made it peel like crazy lol. In the end i used padded plasters to keep pressure off it and it went away.

MrsSchadenfreude · 01/02/2020 23:38

You can get a corn knife from Boots and do it yourself... Grin

Some nasty shoe has been rubbing your toe. It looks like hard skin on its way to becoming a corn (which is hard skin with a central core). And yes, I am a podiatrist.
