I've used sure for years but I'm not sure it's right anymore
Smell wise
What is a really good one to use to make sure this never happens?

Sure Maximum Protection cream. A lot of people recommend Mitchum but I find it rubbish.

purpleme12 · 30/01/2020 10:23

I feel like there's so many different opinions and I just don't want to go for one that doesn't work for me ie makes me smell. But I need to try them anyway to see!

I really like Mitcham, been using it for years and the only one which works for me.

This one. It’s eye-wateringly expensive if you’re used to high street brands, but! It’s completely natural and it works better than any I’ve ever used. Plus it lasts me around 6 months or more because you only need a dab. Read some reviews on it and you’ll see pretty much everyone agrees.

purpleme12 · 30/01/2020 10:31

Oh my god that is expensive! I was hoping not to spend that much on it!!

OP posts:
TeddyIsaHe · 30/01/2020 10:31

It work out around £3 a month though, surely you spend more than that already!

DoomsdayVirus · 30/01/2020 10:35

Dove stick

Ihavechangedmyname2manytimes · 30/01/2020 10:37

Tried a lot of them, as I am very sweaty, the only one that does the job properly- Amway's G&H Protect+ deodorant & Anti-perspirant roll-on. Been using this for at least 9 years. It is not cheap, about £7, but it lasts at least 3-4 months, so not too bad. Became amway distributor all those years ago, but do not buy/sell anything, just buy couple of deodorants for myself, when they have free delivery weekends.

purpleme12 · 30/01/2020 10:38

Is dove stick the normal dove? I tried dove years ago but that didn't really work for me so I'm reluctant to go there again.

Thank you for all the suggestions. Any more are welcome too. I'm a bit paranoid

Sanex 48 hour

NannyR · 30/01/2020 11:18

I've tried most of the sticks and the only thing that keeps me completely odour free all day is a crystal deodorant, rubbed on wet armpits after my shower. It's not an anti perspirant so it doesn't stop you sweating (but sure, dove, mitchum etc didn't keep me dry either).

purpleme12 · 30/01/2020 11:26

I feel like it's a bit of a minefield I don't want to smell! Ha
Going to make a list of all of these on here and try them out

OP posts:
antisupermum · 30/01/2020 11:29

Mitchum for me; I find it does exactly what it says on the tin and covers a full 24+ hours.

If you are having excessive sweat problems OP, you can go to your GP and get a medicated deodorant on prescription. I had this in my very early teens for an unknown and thankfully shortlived sweaty period of life. It worked wonders but did dry my underarms out as it was strong stuff.

purpleme12 · 30/01/2020 11:33

I don't really know if I need to go to the doctors, if I sweat a lot? There's no wet patches but someone said they could smell me a couple of times. So now I am worried and I don't want that!

I think perhaps I should try a different Deodorant before going to doctors??
I live by myself so I've got no one to check with

OP posts:
ClientQueen · 30/01/2020 11:36

The dove or sure cream boxed ones. About a fiver, apply at night

purpleme12 · 30/01/2020 11:39

But I don't know maybe it is something you should go to doctors about?? So embarrassing as well

OP posts:
Fantababy · 30/01/2020 11:39

How does the apply at night thing work if you shower in the morning? Do you not just wash it off?

I use a Dove stick but double up with Mitchum spray if it's warm or if I have a busy day.

GroggyLegs · 30/01/2020 11:46

Another note for the Sure maximum protection - I use the Sport one.

It was the only thing to conquer my post-baby B.O. and continues to leave me whiff free all day.

charlesthekudu · 30/01/2020 11:48

Make sure you're doing the following -
Clean clothes every day including bra
Shower at night and in the morning using a bar of soap rather than shower gel. Not Dove as that acts like a shower gel on the skin.
Make sure you're washing clothes regularly and not overloading the machine. Also dry clothes properly so they don't smell damp.
Apply deoderant at night too after your shower.
If you've got a long stressful day make time to freshen up with a spray deoderant

ClientQueen · 30/01/2020 11:49

@Fantababy nope it still works! Sometimes I use the cream one at night and then have a spray of something in the morning more for the scent

Overseasmom100 · 30/01/2020 11:52

I noticed about 2 years ago I was smelling abit always used same spray on deoderant but now have to use Sanex now days - roll on as it's the only thing that stops me from smelling Confused

chesterfuckingdrorrs · 30/01/2020 11:55

Mitchum the solid cream is brilliant.

I sweat excessively, damp tops and having to choose colours to disguise it as much as possible.

I use the cream on and spray on too, no smells and no sweat patches.

You can get deodorants that stop sweating completely; driclor, triple dry and odaban are a couple I've used. Literally no sweating at all. Just be sure to apply to completely dry skin to avoid irritation. You apply them and night and sleep with them on

chesterfuckingdrorrs · 30/01/2020 11:56

Oh and if it's just for sweaty smells make sure you wash with soap rather than shower gel that makes a huge difference.
