Apparently he's resigned because of an error of judgement in his social media use. What did he do/say?

He apparently called someone an absolute prick on Twitter (although I haven’t found a credible source yet so could be wrong)

Calling someone a prick happened back in May.

He quoted Measure for Measure and in his quote was the word ‘ape’. A person took offence to this and @ itv saying AS had called him an ape.

Account was swiftly deleted.

The quote:

So you have to resign for quoting Shakespeare now ? Surely there must be more to it than that ! Otherwise the world really is mad !

People aren’t happy about it on twitter, plenty directing their thoughts to itv calling for him to be reinstated.

Well, that quote pretty much sums up all the posturing, puffed-up moralists one sees all over Twitter.

I’m more bothered by the fact that he’s been convicted of drink-driving twice. (Both were 10-20 years ago, but it takes a special kind of entitled arsehole to manage it twice.)

Yet they allow Piers fucking Morgan to spill his bile about Meghan on tv every morning. Double standards much.

Mrsemcgregor: I agree with you. Piers Morgan is purely vile. However, the Markle family is pure nightmare. All depends on whether he knew the race of the Twitter user before he tweeted it.

It's on GMB now. They are saying he quoted Shakespeare and are reading the whole quote.
