What small things keep the peace in your house.

In our house, DH and I can't share a toothpaste tube. Each of us gets irritated with the way the other squeezes the tube. So we've solved the issue by having one each. Keeps the harmony.

What little weird things do you do in your house that keep the peace?

Agree with so many posters, definitely the separate bathrooms/toilets! Oh, and a study with a large TV!

If you have a double duvet each on a king size bed, does the bed still look nice and tidy when made?

We have 2 ‘living rooms’ the kids one and our one.
After 7.30pm only me and DH are allowed in our front room (obvs emergencies and homework related questions are allowed)
After years of picking up dirty washing off the bedroom floors of 6DC....I now stand by the ‘if it’s not in the wash basket...it doesn’t get washed’ idea. Works well now they are older and get stroppy if football kits/ripped jeans/PE kits aren’t washed.
2 sinks in our en suite. DH no longer nudges me out of the way when he’s brushing his teeth and I’m cleansing and toning!
I control the heating. Nobody else is allowed to ‘boost’ the heating but me. I’m always cold so if I don’t need to ‘boost’ you definitely don’t!

@fedup21 it does when the cleaner does it (heaven-sent cleaner who changes the sheets!). Us mere mortals can go the German way and fold the duvets.
