How many slices of toast

Would you have if that was your supper?

Worked late today, couldn't be bothered going to the shop on the way home, spent ages cleaning the house then it was too late to cool anything so I had some toast.

Now I'm curious as to how many slices of toast MN would have if it was for your supper?

Depends how big the loaf is. A small hovis, I could eat 4. But if it’s DHs homemade (well bread machine) loaf, comes out massive, so I’d have 2.

mummyrocks1 · 24/01/2020 12:06

I had four last night and a bowl of cereal - greedy

FemiLANGul · 24/01/2020 12:06

I low carb because actually I struggle to have reasonable potions if eating carbs.

Same here, it's either all or nothing for me. I could easily demolish 4 slices of toast or a multi pack of crisps as a 'snack' Blush

ch3rrycola · 24/01/2020 12:08

I had 4 and a mars bar the other night Grin

NamiSwan · 24/01/2020 12:10

2 with something substantial- beans or a couple of fried/scrambled eggs.

Genuinely can't imagine eating 6 slices of bread in one meal!

inwood · 24/01/2020 12:13

Depends entirely on lunch.

Could be two, could be six.

ActualHornist · 24/01/2020 13:05

Two wouldn’t be enough for dinner. I’d wake up hungry!

Probably 4 if I was just having butter and marmite.

Southmouth · 24/01/2020 13:15

Probably 4 but have been known to eat more Blush

Figgygal · 24/01/2020 13:17

2

Bigsighall · 24/01/2020 13:19

2 if it’s breakfast, 3 if it’s lunch and 4 if it’s dinner are my rules!

WwfLeopard · 24/01/2020 13:27

6 slices of bread in 1 day.... I wish! It sticks to my ass and chin(s) like glue

Skyejuly · 24/01/2020 13:28

2 but was 4...

Napqueen1234 · 24/01/2020 13:31

I gave birth recently and over the course of 10 hours after (overnight) I ate 8 pieces of NHS finest toast with butter Shock no regrets Grin every time anyone offered I just said yes.

nameymcnamechangeagain · 24/01/2020 13:33

I have 4 sometimes, and would happily have more if I wanted to!!! Don’t think you should feel embarrassed by this!!

Danni91 · 24/01/2020 13:38

4 because toasting 3 would seem silly in a 4 peice toaster. This is why I over eat Angry

I love toast

potter5 · 24/01/2020 13:48

2 with beans and sausages on!

BarbedBloom · 24/01/2020 15:46
  1. I am 6ft 2 though and don't eat breakfast so am usually hungry at dinner time.
Whathappenedtothelego · 24/01/2020 15:52

For evening meal I would have at least 3.

Two with savoury topping (egg/houmous/grilled cheese/marmite/pate/peanut butter)

And 1 or two sweet for pudding (honey or jam, NEVER marmalade though, that's for breakfast only)

Or I might substitute the sweet ones for a toasted hot cross bun.

Ah, man. The best toast I had were the slices I had after having my daughter!

HeronLanyon · 24/01/2020 22:17

Sliced standard bread - 2. Although I might still be able to eat more I think I’d baulk at yet more of it.
Bigger heavier eg sourdough I might (depending on size) have one. Lashings of butter and honey on one marmite on the other.

Ginkypig · 25/01/2020 02:03

I have 2 normally, sometimes 4 although not very often but I could eat all of them! I don't but I could Blush

Saying that though I don't actually have toast all that often.

I was told it'd be the best toast I'd ever had and was hugely disappointed

MinnieMountain · 25/01/2020 07:46

I was given a sandwich post birth, but it was 1am by then. I felt cheated after all the talk of toast on here.

GiveHerHellFromUs · 25/01/2020 08:48

@MinnieMountain mine was 7:30am so wonder if it was rubbish because it was the breakfast round rather than specifically being made fresh for me

Skyejuly · 25/01/2020 11:36

I didn't even get that. I didn't get offered anything!
