How many slices of toast

Would you have if that was your supper?

Worked late today, couldn't be bothered going to the shop on the way home, spent ages cleaning the house then it was too late to cool anything so I had some toast.

Now I'm curious as to how many slices of toast MN would have if it was for your supper?

Two, with cheese.

Orangecake123 · 23/01/2020 22:00

I only ate bread today with milk.

I had 5. Just too lazy to do anything.

  1. That is the serving size.

My mind is blown at the idea of having a different amount

Megan2018 · 23/01/2020 22:05

4-6 easily if it is replacing a meal. 2 otherwise

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 23/01/2020 22:05

Two, but I couldn’t just have toast, I would be starving - I’d need eggs, cheese, beans or something on it. Ideally grilled cheese, Lea and Perrins, a couple of slices of ham to make a sandwich.

WonderWomanBra · 23/01/2020 22:07

2

RainbowMum11 · 23/01/2020 22:10

2 to begin with.
My DD6 has 4 slices with the boiled egg the other day though!!!

BadEyeBri · 23/01/2020 22:13

4-6 easily

BillywigSting · 23/01/2020 22:14

If was exercising zero restraint, most of a loaf and a packet of kerrygold.

Otherwise two slices. With cheese or beans to make a meal

MajesticWhine · 23/01/2020 22:14

I would have 2 slices with some cheese or salami or something

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 23/01/2020 22:14

2 but I'd add 2 fried eggs and a dollop of hp sauce.

MadeForThis · 23/01/2020 22:15

I want toast now.

2 slices. With cheese. Please.

PrincessSloth · 23/01/2020 22:16

Thank god some people came on and said more than 2!

To clarify, by supper I meant evening meal, after an average lunch of sandwich, bag of crisps and a chocolate bar.

I had four slices, could have had another two but I'd already put the knife in the dishwasher and the butter away!

Loads of butter and marmite though, lovely.

  1. Easy!
almostfreeatlast · 23/01/2020 22:18

I could EASILY put away 4 or even 6 slices but would force myself to only have 2 these days.

Bluntness100 · 23/01/2020 22:22

I low carb because actually I struggle to have reasonable potions if eating carbs. I'd easily put away four, and then be hungry half an hour later for more carbs, Hence why I don't go there any more and killed the cravings totally and feel satiated after even some salami and cheese.

Mrschainsawuk · 23/01/2020 22:28

7 yr old has 4 so do we

Ginfordinner · 23/01/2020 22:29

I am not a competitive under eater BTW. I would have some protein element with my toast - cheese or peanut butter, which would make it more filling.

Chloemol · 23/01/2020 22:30

2, maybe three if still hungry

JigsawsAreInPieces · 23/01/2020 23:07

2 with cheese on. And then another one as it was so nice.

AmIthechristmasfairy · 23/01/2020 23:38

For supper I'd have two slices. Usually with a cup of tea

justjuggling · 24/01/2020 00:22

3, ideally with fried eggs or beans on top!

TheHagOnTheHill · 24/01/2020 00:28

I was going to say 2 but we have fresh sourdough in the cupboard and I could eat slice after slice with butter and marmite, this is one of the reasons I'm dieting and can only have 2.Hmm

AlCalavicci · 24/01/2020 00:37

It depends on the type of bread if its wholemeal that's proper full size slices and 2 or maybe 3 if it's one of these small loaves of white bread and about 6 as there's nothing to them.
Toppings with very but would tend to be something savoury Marmite, beans , cheese, if I am pushing the boat out poached eggs.

gingerchaos · 24/01/2020 00:47

Four because two don't melt the butter properly when you put them in a stack.
