Have you got a 'Happy Place'?

Following a convo today, friend of mine described 'a warm sunny day in a field, smelling the grass etc..' achievable 'happy place' .

Mines more wishful I think, 'if I had a few million quid, buy the perfect house, decorate it in my mind, stables, horses for the DC, cinema room,.... '

Immediate 'de-stesser' was go to films...randomly both Harry Potter- read the books, not a big fan of the films, but possibly the music, fantasy thing, just a 'take away' film...

Have you got mind 'go to' that just makes you feel better?

Happy place is a small village on the Costa Blanca. Every time I leave the airport I feel myself unwinding . Closer to home is Heartwood Forest near Harpenden Herts, every time I take the dogs up there I feel relaxed and revived .

Yes I have three happy places! Lofoten, which isn't so easy to get to, by the fjord where I actually live (very easy to get to), and my favourite wild camping spot a couple of hours hike into the moutains where I'm usually totally alone. It is SO BEAUTIFUL. Sometimes it hurts to look at it's that pretty

I visit Venice in my mind very frequently and 'walk' from one location to another looking at all the streets in between. I go every year and have been there many many times, off peak season. I can't explain the pull it has for me but it just does. I feel alive there and despite seeing it multiples of times it makes my heart soar to arrive and I feel a sadness when we leave and I always whisper 'see you again soon' to it as I leave.

When I can't sleep at night I love to lie in bed in the dark and walk in my mind from Rialto to La Fenice etc

I live on the coast , the shore is my happy place. It led to me becoming a beachcomber, and a whole new career.

It soothes me, and quiets all my thoughts, by the time I leave I am filled with a solid sense of who I am again.

Sea on a sunny day-lying by it or in it if the temperatures right.
