Anyone ever been in the audience of a tv show?

As above really. There's loads of shows which have a live audience - has anyone ever been to one?

A few but no UK show for almost 20 years. Last show was a Tour de France programme in the Netherlands.

The Weakest Link.

We all had to wear black/dark clothes so the audience wouldn’t stand out when the lights went down. They went around draping black cloth over anyone too brightly coloured.

I always thought that the rounds were back-to-back but once they voted off the weakest link each time there was a little break and the contestants could have a drink etc.

Hey bookworm, your choir is my old choir, ha ha! Don't sing any more (moved away), but lots of happy memories!
I was in the audience for Have I got news for you. It was good fun actually. Had Julia Hartley brewer, who was pretty funny.

MrsJoshNavidi · 14/01/2020 19:09

Pointless
Loose Women
And another couple of forgettable shows I can't remember the names of.

cannotmakemymindup · 14/01/2020 19:10

Lipsync Battle UK a couple of episodes. With Mel B and Prof Green. Got to be in the front row and it was funny as I and my friends popped up in other episodes we hadn't recorded but flipped around to appear like we were on the opposite side. Was a lot of fun out with my friends. One episode we filmed never even got shown on TV with Joey Essex in, no idea why.

Was awesome to be so close to a Spice Girl!!

Question of Sport was really good

AlexaAmbidextra · 14/01/2020 19:15

I’m incredibly old so many may not remember Juke Box Jury. A panel of four celebs, hosted by David Jacobs, listened to new releases and voted either ‘Hit’ or ‘Miss’. I was on screen several times as my godfather was one of the cameramen.

WarmSausageTea · 14/01/2020 19:21

Game for a Laugh, which was okay.

A sitcom with Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston called, I think, Mad About Alice. JT really wasn’t very good, kept fluffing his lines, AH seemed lovely, quipping with the audience and very relaxed.

A few other things which I now can’t properly recall.

Everything takes so much longer than you’d expect.

Clawdy · 14/01/2020 19:23

Alexa I watched Juke Box Jury every week, would have loved to be in the audience! Especially the week the Beatles were the panel!

MyCatsSlave · 14/01/2020 19:43

I went to the filming of Blockbusters a long time ago, and a couple of years ago Take Me Out filmed a segment about a contestant in my business. It was really weird as I had to pretend he was a regular I knew really well when I'd never seen him before.

I was in the audience for Russell Brand's Ponderland that was on TV a million moons ago. We had to film lots of reactions. Clapping, laughing etc and I guess they used the best ones to edit into the show. I mostly remember the very long queue to get in. My friend and I got there pretty early to be in with a chance of getting in, which meant hours of standing about.

TerrifiedandWorried · 14/01/2020 19:44

Kilroy.

saraclara · 14/01/2020 19:47

I've been to Bake Off - an Extra Slice several times. And HIGNFY once. The recording of that took three times as long as the programme, and the funniest bits had to be edited out!

TooMuch87 · 14/01/2020 19:51

I used to go quite regularly, 5-10 years ago. I’ve been to HIGNFY, The Chase, Pointless, TOTP, Birds Of A Feather, House Of Fools, Your Face Sounds Familiar, Tipping Point and probably loads others I’ve forgotten.

HIGNFY was my favourite, I’ve been about three times now. Everyone accuses Paul Merton of being miserable and bored, but it’s clearly just his comedy persona - he was the one interacting with the audience and telling jokes during every break in recording.

I went to most recordings alone, which is a good way of getting a front row seat, as there’s often single seats that need filling.

iklboo · 14/01/2020 19:53

Bradley Walsh has a walk about the aisles and yaks to the audience . (And he smells really nice)

He does. He's genuinely lovely and gives great hugs too Grin

JustLikeJasper · 14/01/2020 19:54

The Jonathan ross show - was hilarious
X factor - soooo boring
Big brother - freezing cold and boring

LR33 · 14/01/2020 19:55

Jeremy Kyle

Celebrity Juice

X factor

okiedokieme · 14/01/2020 19:56

Yes, quite a few when I lived in London. Recently I've done some radio shows

LittleBing · 14/01/2020 19:57

How does one get tickets to things like Loose Women?!

BiBiBirdie · 14/01/2020 20:00

I was on TV-AM as a kid.
They came to the church I went to for Palm Sunday and recorded all us kids at the front with the palms we made in children's church earlier.
I've never been able to find it though.

upaladderagain · 14/01/2020 20:01

Back in early 80s I saw Morecambe and Wise and The Two Ronnies. Ronnie Corbett was much funnier live than he seemed on tv - he just had this hilarious vibe that was irresistible.

wheniwonder · 14/01/2020 20:07

Yes saw Wogan being filmed and Top Gear in the days of Hammond, May and Clarkson. Ellen Macarthur was the star in the reasonably priced car and was a joy!
Christopher Lee and David Icke were Wogans guests.

rainbowlou · 14/01/2020 20:08

I probably shouldn’t admit it, but once on
a school trip to Jim’ll fix it 🙈

RustyBear · 14/01/2020 20:08

About 40 years ago I saw Mastermind at Exeter University. One chap got his first three questions wrong but there was a problem and they had to re-do that bit. So the guy had to answer the questions wrongly again, even though he now knew the right answers - viewers will have wondered why he was sitting there getting the answers wrong with a big grin on his face!

I haven't been to any since, but I'm going to see Pointless next week - or I hope I am, as they issue more tickets than places so if everyone turns up you may not get in.
