Piers Morgan - why his virulent hatred for Meghan Markle?

Not a Harry & Meghan thread as such but a genuine question as to why Piers Morgan is so offensively outspoken about Meghan Markle?

I won't do an extensive c&p exercise but some links below are indicative of Piers Morgan's general style.

Is this Piers Morgan's general persona or is this reserved for Meghan Markle?

PS. I only know of Piers Morgan as Britain's Got Talent and decades ago as editor of the Daily Mirror

@PeytonManning - yes, not my finest moment. I only post in Chat (or sometimes Gardening) - but today have managed to start a Piers Morgan thread in Low Carb Bootcamp (and a thread on Hollyoaks in Legal).

He told this story in the early days: They had the usual PR type chat on twitter. He was a fan of Suits. He invited her for a drink when she next came to London. He had a one hour drink a d never heard from her again.

She was probably the most stunning woman he has ever spent an hour with. He name-dropped after the drink that they were friends. She was (no doubt) warned about him by Harry or others. She didn't contact him again. He has been criticising her relentlessly since.

Piers is taking this very personally, isn’t he? How many actresses must he meet? He took her literally when she tweeted “lovely to spend time with my new English friends” or something similar - that smacks of LA luvvy guff which is what it was. She will (and a thousand other actors) will have written the same.

No, they were not friends. It was a work connection set up by TV PR people and he’s got the fire in his ground for her that he can only assuage by getting his dick out on the GMB table and waving it around.

Will someone PLEASE hit him with her handbag aka Grace Jones because that’s all we remember Russell Harty for.

Let's not forget the money factor. I agree with all of the above but I think he's added on a layer of financial gain by being 'that' pundit. He gets more coverage, more exposure by being so out spoken. Some people will hate him, but the right people will hire and pay him.

It looks like the vitriol may be part of a desperate attempt to divert attention from his own very dodgy activities. According to Zelo Street:

He showed his true colours again today with a female journalist who suggested their had been a racist press undertone. Shouting over her and playing the bully boy live on TV. It was shocking to watch.

As people have said, Meghan and he used to speak, and she has ghosted him since knowing Harry, and he absolutely cannot STAND it!

His obsession with her, and the way he rants on with such vitriol-filled bile, is making him come across as utterly unhinged now. He is like a rejected ex.

I think he is obsessed with her, and she flat-out does not want to know him, and it is KILLING him. I would be very upset if I was his wife, because he is clearly obsessed with Meghan, and desperately in love with her.

He needs to fuck off to the far side of fuck, and take those equally awful individuals Eamonn Holmes, and Katie Hopkins with him. Vile, all of them.
