Doing a drinks party next week. I can only think of the following

Quails eggs and celery salt
smoked salmon and blinis

I could be looking up ideas online (and I am) but I like chatting on MN, so ideas gratefully received!

@bsc - with drinks before dinner, at drinks parties, receptions and events. They are often served at weddings where the guests are hanging about for hours whilst the photos are being taken before the meal.

Provide cocktail napkins or small plates, but they should be bite-sized and not messy.

Baked baby potatoes split and topped with sour cream (with a tiny bit of finely grated onion mixed in if you like) and lumpfish roe.

Tiny yorkshire puddings with a roll of rare roast beef and horseradish cream

Thank you! I have never been to a drinks party. I feel left out now! Only been to three weddings too, and one of those was my own elopement!

Wish I had eloped!

I am always slightly disappointed when at drinks things there is a scarcity of canapes. So I am tempted to go seriously overboard.... like Nigella says; 'Never knowingly under-cater'.

Baby new potatoes aren’t messy at all. Just a single bite. Oblomov20
