Cherry panda pops please and some pebbles (I don’t know if they have a name, they were sweets that looked exactly like pebbles)

Teenagedream · 10/01/2020 18:18

Just finished O levels. I'd like a jackie mag and a Fab lolly.

ginandbearit · 10/01/2020 18:21

I've just bought a Norton motorcycle and am working on a farm fighting fires in the local woods..I have purple loons

user1471452691 · 10/01/2020 18:28

We’ve just moved into a new build townhouse. We have a cream shag pile carpet in the lounge/diner that I rake regularly to stop the pile flattening. We also have a pampas green bathroom suite! There’s a new pizza takeaway opened in the town and we can’t get enough of it!

willowmelangell · 10/01/2020 18:30

Mum is dabbing her arms with olive oil from a small glass bottle from the chemist. I would love to read a Misty comic but I've spent my money on Bazooka Joes and gob stoppers.Me and my sister have a homemade paddling pool made from a black plastic rubbish bag. We get homemade ice-lollys. We spend all our time in the garden.
The top of the outside bin cage is a black plasticy lid. It is soft when I pinch it. Ladybirds are everywhere.

okiedokieme · 10/01/2020 18:30

Mini milk for me, and tizer

TheoneandObi · 10/01/2020 18:30

I'm bouncing on my pogo stick. My sister wants it. But she can't have it because I'm the oldest. Though we still have to wear matching dresses tho in coordinating colours, with ric rack trim. I want a Cloth Kits dress like my friend Philippa. They're dead posh though so I won't be getting g one of them!
Mum will call us in bit for tea. It's steakettes, I hope there's frozen pink mousse for pudding.

noideaatallreally · 10/01/2020 18:40

I'm 7 and really excited because my dad's come home after going all the way to Scotland to work on the oil rigs.

It's the first good money he has ever (or will ever) earn so tomorrow we are all going to Scarborough with our next door neighbours to stay in a caravan. All ten of us will drive up there in a Ford Cortina.

So please could you bring me a 10p mix. I would like cola bottles, white mice, ice cups and fruit salads, but no horrible black jacks or shrimps thanks. My mum has asked for you to buy some sanitary towels please - I'm glad you are going because although I don't know what they are yet by the time I am 12 I will know and I will be mortified to buy them. Don't worry - the lady in the shop will wrap them up in newspaper to disguise them.
I cant; wait to watch Little House on the Prairie and the Ghosts of Motley Hall. As it is holiday time as a special treat I am going to be allowed to stay up late and watch Six Million Dollar Man. My mum insists I go to bed no later than 7.30 on a school night.

silenceofthemams · 10/01/2020 18:41

I'm in the house with my brother in my cotton long nighty. It's pink and white striped with little gathered sleeves.

I'm covered head to toe in calamine lotion and itching like crazy from chicken pox and insane heat. My brother is in sky blue pyjamas with a navy blue trim. He's covered in calamine and pox too.

We are driving each other insane and our legs are sticking to the faux leather tan sofa.

We are watching Test Card F to see if the clown moves.

Can you get my brother a Zoom, and a Fab for me please. My mother has an account at the shop and the lady just writes down everything in her blue marbled book.

mathanxiety · 10/01/2020 18:47

I'm eleven and skating to the shop for a Wibbly Wobbly Wonder. I will be crossing the main road from Dublin to Rosslare twice and hopefully there won't be too much traffic.

HaudMaDug · 10/01/2020 18:56

I'll have a lemonade sparkle ice lolly please. Mum says the van that plays Greensleeves is the butcher so I'm not fussed for leaving this hole that I'm busy digging in the garden. I'm only 2 and I've got my fav Paddington bear Tshirt on with my wellies and nowt else but a thick, flakey coating of calomine lotion to soothe my lobster skin. Mum's flat out frying on the 'finger eating' sunbed in her bra, velour hot pants and scholl sandals.

NewName73 · 10/01/2020 18:58

I've just been to a Sex Pistols gig ...

OvenGlovesWillTearUsApart · 10/01/2020 19:12

I am 3, and wearing my favourite pink floral cotton dress with smocking and a Peter Pan collar, which Granny made, and a little white broderie anglaise hat.

I am picking strawberries with my brothers and my mummy. Daddy is photographing us.

There are a LOT of ladybirds!

hambledon · 10/01/2020 19:13

I'm listening to 'Teenage Depression' by Eddie and the Hotrods over and over again in my bedroom.

Love the smell of melting tarmac in the sun when I though.

mizu · 10/01/2020 19:23

I'm 3 and spending A LOT of time in the paddling pool. My mum is sunbathing in a brown towelling bikini and dad has gone off to the paper shop to get a newspaper. Hopefully he'll bring back some pacers or spangles. Happy days.

jakinaboxx · 10/01/2020 19:23

I'm nearly 3 and my grandad's Austin Allegro just broke down at Knowsley safari park

Pebble21uk · 10/01/2020 19:38

willowmelangell Bazooka Joes!? Can I have the cartoon strip from inside the wrapper to read please?

Dizzygirl00 · 10/01/2020 20:10

Thankyou so much for this thread ☺️ Had a rubbish day after a rubbish week 🙄 and the memories here are just lovely ☺️

MrsGrindah · 10/01/2020 20:23

Brilliant thread!
I’m only six and bored because my older sister who has just finished her o levels is lying ALL day in the sun smelling of Amber Soliare. So I’ve got my crayons out but nobody told me they’d melt in the sun....Mum is being v sophisticated drinking a cinzano and lemonade and Dad is at work.

Katinski · 10/01/2020 20:28

It is, indeed, a lovely thread Star
I wasn't living in the UK then, and I'm enchanted by these memories. Except the ladybirds ones.Shock Lovely looking things but they carry their venom in their bloody knees, well, if UK ladybirds are like ours, that is...

mummagirl · 10/01/2020 20:28

I'm 6 and live beside the sea......perfect

MrsGrindah · 10/01/2020 20:30

@SlayB That comment about the brotherhood of man dance!!!!!

Schmoozer · 10/01/2020 20:34

I’m 7 I’ll race you on your bike to the shops !
I’ve got ten pence so I’m going to buy a whole twix for 8 pence and 8 fruit salad chews because they are half pence each yum
I’ve put my yellow t shirt on with my pedal pushers and now I’m covered in green flys !!!!

Twospaniels · 10/01/2020 20:35

I’m cycling around the park with my friend Linda. We’re neighing and making horse noises. We’ve put grass cuttings in our saddle bags to pretend it’s hay for our ponies.

Later we discover our saddlebags are full of ants.

OvenGlovesWillTearUsApart · 10/01/2020 20:41

Sausage & tomato flavour crisis

Some 1970s food really was disastrous.
