I love ready salted crisps... You can keep your fancy flavours - I'm a simple woman 😂

What underrated foods do you love?

A perfectly boiled, poached or fried egg with runny yolk. Black pudding.

Butter. The real stuff that is in a wrapper, not in a tub. And absolutely not that foul yellow gloop which pretends to be butter (off you jolly well f**k, clover, flora and the like).

Absolutely agree that normal ready salted crisps (Walkers) are far better than the fancy pants ones.

Corned Beef and pickled onion sandwiches.

I've only just discovered fried frankfurters 🤤

Chip buttie on a white roll with butter drenched in malt vinegar
Cheese ham and mayo toastie on white bread
Lovely bakery bread, no supermarket stuff.

Also quite partial to a chicken and mushroom pot noodle.
Homemade soup

Corn beef hash with a fried egg and tomato sauce. Delia's recipe 😋

Cheese & tomato toasties(obviously made with cheap white bread & the bright orange cheese). Perfection.

Also, lightly fried courgettes with pretty much anything, breakfast? With bacon. Lunch? With eggs. Supper? Pasta & pesto. God love the humble courgette.

Jacobs crackers and salted butter.

Super crispy toasted crumpets with lashings of proper butter & marmite.

Blackcurrants.
Why so much fuss is made about blueberries, I have no idea. Blackcurrants are way better but only seem to be considered for ribena.

Gherkins (sweet picked)

Tinselviolin · 08/01/2020 23:44

Agree with corned beef hash. Or sandwiches. Or straight out the tin with a digestive biscuit. Got some weird looks the first time I did that in public!

bakedbeanzontoast · 08/01/2020 23:50

Cottage cheese!

CoupeCourte · 09/01/2020 05:47

Apricots - they have to be perfectly ripe so they're juicy and sweet. Also a big fan of prunes, I have to ration myself to avoid disastrous consequences.

Blue cheese and ritz crackers

Boiled Jersey Royals with butter

Roast turkey and stuffing sandwich on white bread

Dairylea on a warmed baguette half

ButterflyOfFreedom · 09/01/2020 06:23

Beetroot
