Celebs having babies via surrogates

Just concerns me a bit that’s all, i do believe you can love a child you adopt and I’m sure in one goes into this lightly

It just makes me worry for the women that are the surrogates

Amy Schumer is another one talking surrogacy on Instagram. She’s been freezing embryos because she wants a second child but won’t be birthing the baby herself due to terrible hyperemesis.

These women always have some excuse as to why they have to buy someone else's body to gestate their biological children (or their husband's biological child).

Ah, the choice argument. Just because surrogates make a choice, it doesn’t mean it isn’t exploitation. It’s risking your health (and potentially your life) for money.

The flipside of my previous post about having HG pregnancies and coming close to dying is that by using a surrogate I would be pushing those risks onto her. There was nothing in my obstetric history to suggest I would need an emergency section with one pregnancy (not my first) or that another would result in haemorrhage and dangerously low BP, or that medical incompetence would leave me with a life threatening infection. I'd be asking her to take a gamble, potentially with her life, for little to no direct benefit for herself.
