Reality television. I always feel like an asshole, though, when I am forced to say no, I didn’t watch the latest instalment of Big Celebrities Island Dancing Factor.

Also my H wittering on about Superhero films. None of them make sense, and it’s all bullshit. Especially ‘Batman’.

Hellokittymania · 13/01/2020 05:34

Mrs. J, Mandarin, and other people who don’t like Formula One, I’m not really a fan either, but I have been to the night race in Singapore. It was very exciting, thanks to the atmosphere and the concert afterward. The night I went, Jennifer Lopez was performing and it was great. Not only that, but I have special needs, so was given my own usher for the evening who walked me around and we were able to get into the… Not the celebrity box to watch the concert but the other kind of box that’s reserved… Whatever you call it… I’m still friends with my usher who was a student from the Polytechnic.

As far as what bores me… Not really sure… I meet so many people, even if they’re just helping me cross the road and we start talking… So to break the ice I kind of know a little bit about everything… I don’t want people shying away from talking to people with disabilities because they think there’s nothing in common…

Other people's dreams and formula 1

RedRec · 13/01/2020 19:25

Just thought of another one: James Bond films. They are all exactly the same and I can't tell one from the other (and don't want to).
So don't talk to me about them!

astrorosa · 13/01/2020 19:27

Football, tennis, the works of Tom Hardy (classic novelist), instagramers, old men.

SummerPavillion · 13/01/2020 19:30

Football. Kill me now.

Otoh I'm fascinated/furious/incredulous at people's political opinions but never, ever bored.

tenredthings · 13/01/2020 19:39

Other people describing their dreams.

Userengage · 13/01/2020 19:51

Fucking dreams, I don’t tell anyone about my unconscious thoughts so why should I want to hear theirs?
One friend thinks because she has dreamt of me I’ll be interested (nope, not even if I was shagging Jesse Pavelka) and another told me that she doesn’t have dreams, she has premonitions. Her premonitions seem to consist of meeting me at the school gate and I’m wearing my grey coat, which I wear often or some other common item of clothing. “I knew you would be wearing that coat today, I saw it in a dream last night’”. Ffs

Washing lunch boxes every evening.

Hearing about other people’s children, especially if the parent thinks the are especially bright.

My lovely friend’s stories about her new puppy.

Marking bond books.

Userengage · 13/01/2020 19:53

Oh and musicals. I sit down and think “how long until I can get out of here?”. Rather go to a gig.

Bluemascara4 · 13/01/2020 21:24

Other people's diet / weight loss

Cricket

Anyone who shows me holiday pictures or tells me llong stories about someone I don't know or care about

SummerPavillion · 13/01/2020 21:54

I'm guilty of practically all these. Be very glad you don't know me irl.

However, I'd only ever talk about a dream if it featured the person I'm talking to and/or was rude. I'm not that boring.

iamadalek2 · 03/06/2020 22:55

People telling me about the diet they're on. Endless conversations about losing 2lbs, putting in 3lbs etc,

iamadalek2 · 03/06/2020 22:57

Harry and Meghan soap opera. Couldn't care less where they're living etc. Boring

50shadesoflunacy · 03/06/2020 23:03

Zoom/skype/team calls
Colleagues from 20 miles away who I will likely rarely see who is clearly a tommy two shits and always has to steer the conversation back to her.

Wauden · 03/06/2020 23:08

The various trans rights debates and in-fighting stuff.

ProudMarys · 03/06/2020 23:15

Whingey people (especially those who join Mumsnet to moan about hearing parents talk about kids) Wink
Although actually quite often, me too. I actually find people who have nothing else to talk about boring. So I try to avoid it unless someone asks which is usually the in-laws and old lady friends

Wauden · 03/06/2020 23:19

"The British Museum. Room after room of random shit. I know it’s heresy, but fuck me I can feel myself dying cell by cell in there. Ditto The Louvre."

What? This has to be a p1ss take. ConfusedThey are full of fascinating things and stories and all that beautiful art and sculpture and gift shops and cafes and the Elgin Marbles are sublime.

FruitPastillesaregood · 03/06/2020 23:24

All sport apart from Wimbledon. Adverts of all kinds. Politics. Maths. People who only want to talk about themselves. Most TV these days...

user1471565182 · 03/06/2020 23:25

undead thread but... People who wont shut the fuck up about Thailand.

How is the British Museum just 'random shit'? its acres of priceless stuff people lived in, died in, went to war in, got married in, created some of the first forms of art on- all from ancient cultures we cant begin to imagine being part of.
