I prefer haddock but it's mostly cod served around here. Not that I have chips often at all, the small number of places that sell haddock always over cook it, so given up trying. Cod fish fingers for the kids though.

I was once a member of a deeply religious group. They held the Salmon in high regard and every Friday we abstained from fish in honour of the Salmon.
