bulgaria, not sure if it's been mentioned ❤️🇧🇬

huggybear · 01/01/2020 21:51

Abu Dhabi, St Helena, Jersey, Isle of Wight(!), St Thomas, Puerto Rico, Cayman Islands, Dubai, Sicily. No.

BarbaraofSeville · 01/01/2020 21:57

You've still got Brussels as a country in that list coiner. I'm not sure whether to count Belgium, or the Netherlands for that matter, on my list as in both cases my visits have been limited to using their main airports during indirect flights so didn't actually leave the airport.

Patagonia is the region with the most Welsh speakers outside of Wales I was fascinated to read about this when I visited the Liverpool maritime museum. They had a display about Welsh people emigrating to Patagonia and how there was still a Welsh speaking community there.

backinthebox · 01/01/2020 21:57

I was waiting for someone to say Chad! @Hefzi that's quite a haul of weird and wonderful countries! Are you a military or relief worker?

I've been to 71 different countries but all of them are listed already (a couple only listed by Hefzi.) so it would be a chore to type them out. I've visited every continent except Antartica.

I will confess I'm baffled though by some of the places been thrown into the ring as countries. Some posters have a grasp of geography even worse than my husband's!

coiner · 01/01/2020 22:05

BarbaraofSeville ...tag! You're IT now, and can update the list next Grin

MsJuniper · 01/01/2020 22:19

I included places that weren't countries as I thought the OP was asking if we had collectively been everywhere in the world by location rather than meaning which political state they belonged to! Evidently I was incorrect as the OP does clearly state countries (for which many apologies) Grin

StripeyDeckchair · 01/01/2020 22:23

I can add

Kuwait
Mauritania
Kenya
Tanzania
Russia

Crawley65 · 01/01/2020 22:27

Cook Islands

ParsleyPot · 01/01/2020 22:28

Fiji

butteredbarmbrack · 01/01/2020 22:32

I think I can add another - North Macedonia.

Letmedowneasy · 01/01/2020 22:33

I can add Bermuda.

huggybear · 01/01/2020 22:41

@Letmedowneasy nope.

ChristmasCarcass · 01/01/2020 22:50

I think protectorates and territories might be allowed - clearly there is a massive difference between visiting French Polynesia and popping over to Calais, even if they are both technically France. And visiting Gibraltar/Falklands are not the same as staying in the UK, if you are from the UK.

Agree we do not need a separate category for every state in the US though.

Fedupofballs · 01/01/2020 22:53

I can add Kosovo if that helps!

Caroian · 01/01/2020 22:58

betteybattenburg Dominica already appears on coiner's list, although I must admit I've missed it in the thread too. I've been there though. (There used to be a massive Colgate factory on the island - I believe it closed down but may now have re-opened again. All of the bus stops on the island were bright red and sponsored by Colgate, with large toothpaste adverts painted on to them!)

oneofourdays · 01/01/2020 23:33

I can add Tibet if it hasn't been mentioned.

SoleBizzz · 01/01/2020 23:38

Mars

bettybattenburg · 01/01/2020 23:55

You can keep your Mars, that's just a dull place in Slough. I've been to Bognor Regis Grin

TimeAfterTimeAfter · 01/01/2020 23:57

Canvey Island

bettybattenburg · 02/01/2020 00:04

Isle of Dogs....

dreamingofmushrooms · 02/01/2020 00:20

bettybattenburg · 02/01/2020 01:32

Skegness

FlyingNorth · 02/01/2020 01:38

Since we're including former countries, I can add USSR.

DebbieTheChicken · 02/01/2020 01:59

This is a great thread, although everywhere I've been was mentioned by about page 5.

2 things struck me as hilarious on this thread:

  1. people adding places such as Dubai, Florida and Alaska (I know lots of other people up thread said this too and the list has been amended a few times)
  2. people wading in on page 10/11/12 with places such as Germany and Spain

I'd love to know how and why some of you ended up visiting some of the more exotic/out of the ordinary countries!
