MongerTruffle Sorry - I just copypasted people's lists, reordered and removed duplicates! Feel free to repost the list with the ones that don't count removed. My world geography isn't secure enough to make that call Blush

chomalungma · 01/01/2020 18:09

@comoranstrike I know you mean no offence. Ireland is the country divided into Northern Ireland and The Republic of Ireland.
RoI would commonly be referred to as Ireland, its rare Irish people would refer to themselves as been from ROI, we are from Ireland. Of course Northern Ireland is in Ireland but we would NEVER EVER refer to NI as been Ireland alone and the Republic been ROI.

StickyProblem · 01/01/2020 18:14

Serbia! I have been! It was ace!!

Sprogstersmum · 01/01/2020 18:16

Noumea is the capital of New Caledonia which belongs to France however it is close to Vanuatu which is an independent country.

StrumpersPlunkett · 01/01/2020 18:18

anyone been to the central african republic?

bettybattenburg · 01/01/2020 18:20

Is New Caledonia the part of French Polynesia?

Oblomov20 · 01/01/2020 18:21

Have we established which countries haven't been visited.

Could be easier.

ForeverFaithless · 01/01/2020 18:23

It's sort of bizarre to fly hundreds of miles from Australia to New Caledonia, a French territory, but it feels like a completely separate country.

bettybattenburg · 01/01/2020 18:24

There's a list 8 messages above yours @Oblomov20 !

Lots of issues with geography here guys!
UAE encompasses Fujeirah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Um Al Quwain, Sharjah and Ras Al Khamieh.
Bali is an island in Indonesia.

bettybattenburg · 01/01/2020 18:43

Melanesia is a region and not a country though

TimeAfterTimeAfter · 01/01/2020 18:48

Aw, I quite like the idea of Fuertaventura being a country. 🤣

Winebottle · 01/01/2020 19:14

England and Scotland are countries. Pointless is wrong on that.

HappyHoppy · 01/01/2020 19:14

From Betty’s list- I’ve been to Mongolia, and to the DMZ, which is the shared/neutral zone between North and South Korea ... not sure if that one counts though!

Cookit · 01/01/2020 19:41

Fuerteventura and Tenerife have been my favourite contributions so far! Hmm Grin

I also know someone who has been to North Korea so surely someone on here will have ...

EggysMom · 01/01/2020 19:46

I take it these are Richard Osman approved countries?

I made a similar point at 09:47 this morning Grin Grin

BarbaraofSeville · 01/01/2020 19:52

I know several people who have been to Antarctica, but that doesn't count as a country.
