Couldn't be arsed to go out tonight so was hoping for some decent tv - but Craig David as the main NYE thing? Why? Madness were fab last year as was Nile Rogers the year b4. Is he really that popular? Maybe I'm just an old fart.

Never the Hootenanny.

Katjolo · 01/01/2020 01:18

Craig David is fab! Saw him live. Such a great concert and set

TheTinselrati · 01/01/2020 01:19

@TakeMetoPluto sounds brilliant. I'm glad to see the back of 2019 too! HNWine!

Equanimitas · 01/01/2020 01:29

I only turned over to BBC at 11.55 to see the turn of the year fireworks programme that they billed as starting at that point. I was distinctly pissed off to have to spend over four and a half minutes watching Craig David being fawned over and asked inane questions by the presenter before they finally deigned to switch over to Big Ben and the countdown.

Was sitting with my mam watching Scottish Hogmanay with cold Prosecco ... feeling a bit depressed that we never do anything at nye or Christmas really ... bit miffed that Big Bird and her cronies were gone !!

Midnight my wonderful neighbours set off a huge fireworks display - unbeknownst to us earlier . We ended up sitting outside drinking Prosecco in pyjamas looking at the stars and watching all the fireworks from our wee tiny village on NE coast . Whole sky was light up . One of those moments you know you’ll never forget . Just absolutely awesome . It’s been a thoroughly shit year in so so many ways, capped it all off with life changing diagnosis in October - but it was happy tears tonight .

@Justanotherlurkereding but passed my test April 18) the prosecco and tropicana is making me feel under 16, the IDAGF attitude is also boosting my concern confidence. Come morning once the beer fear kicks in, three panic attacks later, I shall be forever grateful of the dry January challenge. Happy New Year x (oh feck I thought I was on a text, but feel free to embrace the umsnetty kiss on a reply 🤣

TakemetoPluto · 01/01/2020 01:39

😕🤔 My whole reply to someone else has fucked up my post, and doesn't even Make sense to me who wrote it..... Come tomorrow with no alcohol I shall hibernate and rejoice of being a nosy twat from reading and not posting xxx

augustusglupe · 01/01/2020 01:40

I enjoyed him, although DH kept taking the Mick. We switched sides between Hootenanny (Stereophonics were fantastic) and Craig. Also watched Queen on Sky...good night, the Prosecco helped too!!

MurrayTheMonk · 01/01/2020 01:47

I love him Blush, always have.?despite otherwise being an indie bird...
I thought he was great! And so nice...

ClappyCheeks · 01/01/2020 01:54

Queen and Adam Lambert were incredible. I still can't get over how good they were. Every year since has been a let down

Totally agree. They were amazing.

I didn’t think CD was too bad. He seems a nice guy.

HelloAgainYou · 01/01/2020 01:56

Lol to queen and Robbie Williams 🙄

Emmapeeler1 · 01/01/2020 02:06

I liked him and didn’t realise how many songs of his I know. My teenage niece knew the ones I didn’t.

Lemonnhoney · 01/01/2020 02:14

I thought he was fab!

Emmelina · 01/01/2020 02:34

Honestly I’ve not had a high opinion of him since I heard the cringe boast breathless “Craig David, seven days, check it ouuuut” by him at the beginning of the song he was literally starting to sing all those years ago Hmm
Saw it was him on the beeb, turned over. Sorry to any fans. I’m sure he has a high enough opinion of himself to counteract my low one Wink

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 01/01/2020 02:43

you can always watch jools holland instead.

Some Scottish people don't actually believe in him - so not an option Grin

bluebell34567 · 01/01/2020 12:29

thank God it wasnt cold play or ed shreen.

bluebell34567 · 01/01/2020 12:30

all my hairs would go up.

Geoffreythecat · 01/01/2020 12:37

I've seen Queen and Adam Lambert live, what a brilliant night that was. Craig David isn't really comparable in any way is he? Or am I biased because I've loved Adam Lambert since his first audition on American Idol?
