I don't know how many years this has been going, but we can't break the tradition now!

I can offer:
endless bottles of Shloer (half price at Tesco)
leftover macaroni cheese
a ton of Heroes/Celebrations
a billion chocolate coins

There will be a table of nut-free products for anyone who's allergic like me.

Let the party commence!

The party has slowed, are we all watching Billy Elliot or eating?

Sparklingbrook · 31/12/2019 21:54

I have been out. Angry

Two sips of Prosecco, DS1 appeared asking for a lift to a party 12 miles away. Just got back.

fazakerleyjackie · 31/12/2019 21:55

Aha!
I just knew that all the best people would be here! Grin

I have bottles of Schloer, crisps, chocolate, different cheeses. No alcohol. I seem to have gone off it

user1463178569 · 31/12/2019 22:02

Hehe can I join? Sat watching Lee Evans, hubby asleep on couch, dog asleep next to me and my two girls who I've said can stay up until midnight have disappeared upstairs.

I can offer half eaten choc orange, one can of magners and random selection box choc..

nofriendsatll · 31/12/2019 22:06

I don't actually fancy anything to eat but I'm hungry. Decided on Spectre whilst waiting for GN.

First glass of red gone. Lovely.

MarieVanGoethem · 31/12/2019 22:07

Tiny vegan fairy cake anyone? sockittome123 they’re made in a factory that makes stuff with nuts in, so will keep the wee box of them away from you for now... I went with Worth The Risk [anaphylactic dairy allergy] & have not died, but not exactly the recommended way of going about things...

I need to woman up & change dressings on wounds from (ha! autocorrect just decided that should be sounds grim, never was it so right) portacath insertion last week as ones put on yesterday are irritating my skin (had to recourse to oral steroids on top of 2 types antihistamine...) & one is peeling off & next wound check isn’t for a week. Couldn’t get new dressings until this evening as GP for some reason initially prescribed wrong size & it took trip round 4 pharmacies at about closing time to find somewhere with the right ones when right prescription re-sent. That was a joy. That totally wiped me out. Am totally convinced I’m somehow going to manage to give myself sepsis while doing this, yes. Would be about right for this year...

After that ridiculous whinge any volunteers to give me a kick to get me to go & do it? Wink

managedmis · 31/12/2019 22:11

Whoop woo!

I'm finally here

Watching Robin Hood Prince of Theives Grin drinking wine and ready to (not) party!

Amys136 · 31/12/2019 22:11

@MarieVanGOethem just think of it as getting it out of the way for the new year. Firs change is bound to be the worst.

Baby is on third wake up since bedtime so I’ve given up on tv and I’m reading in bed now in between settling her down. Did manage to scoff some chocolates before coming up though

Rainbowhairdontcare · 31/12/2019 22:13

Photo of my DD looking way too old for 9 years! I've had too much already!

Not going out tonight? Come and join the annual MN virtual New Year's Eve party!
Bunnybigears · 31/12/2019 22:15

Can I join in? Quiet night in with DH, DS 9 and DS 12, 3 cats and the dog. All in our PJs. We each got to choose 1 thing we all had to participate in. So far we have had a nerf battle which the 9 year old suggested, eaten food (DH has little imagination), soon the board games will come out and then finally the 12 year olds suggestion of foing animal impressions Hmm

Can I join? Arsehole cheating husband gone back into arsehole mode after getting away with his latest adventure Scot-free.

His actions affect his job and I’ve stood by him. Tonight became home throwing a strop because ‘what the fuck were you doing all day?’

I had a heart attack inApril, numerous complications, only back at work full time in December and did the usual wife organising and cooking Christmas.

Ugh, sorry to bring the vibe down

MoaningMinniee · 31/12/2019 22:16

I'm snuggling... both children are out partying with their beloveds. (they are twins and the next big family celebration will be their 21st birthday so I am not being a neglectful parent)

DP is also out, but I got into the habit of snuggling with sole command of the remote and a large box of chocolates about 21 years ago (yes this does correlate with the year our twins were born) and tbh I love it and don't want to change.

Happy new year everyone!

MoaningMinniee · 31/12/2019 22:18

@Bunnyfuller I'm so sorry huge hugs xx

sockittome123 · 31/12/2019 22:19

I spilt my shloer AGAIN! On the cat this time! What is wrong with me??

OP posts:
StudentHelp · 31/12/2019 22:20

I’m in too!
Travelled over 350 miles to see my boyfriend and he’s decided to stay in

didireallysaythat · 31/12/2019 22:21

I'm going to skip the buffet table if that's ok fellow vipers. I'm already in bed, face pack on. I'm going to wake up in 2020 with the complexion I had in 1980.

user1463178569 · 31/12/2019 22:22

Aw @Bunnyfuller hope you are ok, have some of my choc orange . Flowers

ParsleyPot · 31/12/2019 22:23

My horses don't like the fireworks so I need to stay in. They have started already... aaaargh

Looking forward to 12.30am when they should all be over.

Cheers everyone! WineWine

Vintagevixen · 31/12/2019 22:23

Can I join?

Staying in with DD (11).

Can offer mint matchmakers, though if anyone wants one be quick, anything mint/chocolate doesn't last long in this house and DD is munching away!

Also have an annoying cat trying to perch on me.

MarieVanGoethem · 31/12/2019 22:24

@Amys136
You are wise indeed. And I’ve had 2 dressing changes done - sadly yesterday’s one featuring something that my skin has apparently decided is made of acid not adhesive Hmm - & it’s not like I’m about to get my hands as dirty as possible, remove the dressing, allow the cat curled up next to me to finally achieve his ambition of Licking It Better, then slap new dressing on any old how. Or even, you know, just not wash my hands incredibly thoroughly inc properly scrubbing my nails.

Excellent work on the chocolate-stealthing; hope that the wee one settles soon.

@Bunnyfuller
Ech. Am so sorry. Flowers

@sockittome123
I mean, my cats are very much about stealing sharing all my (vegan!!! seriously, what about them being obligate carnivores & thus our diets having no crossover do they not get?!) food, but I suspect they’d take umbrage at being baptised with it... Hope yours is in a forgiving mood...

user1463178569 · 31/12/2019 22:24

I'm just checking if this will change my name...been on this site for years....still have no clue how to change it Crown Hmm

JustMyName · 31/12/2019 22:26

Sorry to hear that Bunny.

I'm alone, adult dc don't live close, youngest dd with her dad, bf in the midst of moving house to be closer, but not here yet. But I'm ok, it's just another evening. I'm watching fave dvds and have ordered pizza.
