I don't know how many years this has been going, but we can't break the tradition now!

I can offer:
endless bottles of Shloer (half price at Tesco)
leftover macaroni cheese
a ton of Heroes/Celebrations
a billion chocolate coins

There will be a table of nut-free products for anyone who's allergic like me.

Let the party commence!

Happy new year! I have some cava if anyone would like some? Also have very rich brownies in foil. Went to watch the nutcracker with dd today, which was nice as we're staying in tonight. Have put on radio 6 for a nice selection of music. Next will be to put a festive film on, Scrooge is on iplayer.
And have to watch 'Dinner for one' with a glass of cava of course! 😀

sockittome123 · 31/12/2019 19:51

Everyone's welcome!

I'm in my PJs relaxing by the fire. Going to have a cuppa which is very boring.

I'm in Spain (not permanently).

We have excellent cava, beer and one of these for pudding: spanishsabores.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Roscon-de-Reyes.jpg

MIL has counted out grapes for us to eat one per bong at midnight.

AccioMulledWine · 31/12/2019 19:54

Can I join? I have 🍷 and popcorn. Waiting for our takeaway. 2 hours and counting. At what time do we concede defeat? Betting is open...

justgivememulledwine · 31/12/2019 19:56

I can bring lots of fizzy plonk and chocolates, will be very merry by midnight and waving a cheery goodbye to a shitty year.

Roll on 2020 🎉🍾🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂😁

Wauden · 31/12/2019 20:00

The prosecco is flowing! Who's for a glass? 🍾🍾🍾🙃

Amys136 · 31/12/2019 20:00

@MinnieMountain I love that your MUL has that sorted about 4 hours in advance

Notopel · 31/12/2019 20:01

We have fireworks 🧨 here already. Anyone else’s neighbours being a bit premature?

Helini · 31/12/2019 20:01

Wooohooo New Year! I'm bringing a big ol' crock pot of Bolognese that I put on to slow cook this morning but my knobhead loving husband turned it off and we only realised 10 mins before tea. Its blipping away now... 4 hours late instead of happily sitting in my tummy. I may or may not have passively aggressively sung 'Little Donkey' to him many times his afternoon.

@Notopel we had them at 4:15!!!!! When it was raining

YuletideFairy · 31/12/2019 20:05

Can I join in? DH has been called out so I’m home alone with the dogs. I do have a bar full of drink though and an uneaten buffet...

workworry1 · 31/12/2019 20:08

I've got a good ol spag Bol and a bottle of Prosecco

I'm in pjs and dh is reading to ds who will hopefully be asleep shortly

What can I watch on tv? Any recommendations?

Idroppedthescrewinthetuna · 31/12/2019 20:10

I live opposite a pub, Some of those are pooping over and having a shot through the window. My family and I are playing games and eating nice food!
Happy new year to you all ❤️

Notopel · 31/12/2019 20:10

@babasaclover That is early!

I’m thinking that it’s parents who want to get the kids to bed... ‘Yes, it IS midnight now. Look it’s dark. We’ve done the fireworks and now it’s time for bed’ Job done by 9 o’clock and they can collapse on the sofa with a glass of bubbly.

sockittome123 · 31/12/2019 20:11

We've got a box set of the Good Life somewhere that we might crack out for a bit of 70s charm! Ignoring the fact that the 70s was almost 50 years ago...

sockittome123 · 31/12/2019 20:12

In other news, I have just spilt shloer down my dressing gown after it missed my mouth... I need to check that it's not alcoholic!

😄be careful sock

TV - I miss the old days of Clive James’s round up of the year. NE tv just seems a bit rubbish now

SheilaHammond · 31/12/2019 20:16

I'm in! I've got a takeaway and youngest DC watching TV. DH at away at work til the weekend. No booze cos I've given it up. Bigger DC are out at parties and staying over so no need to do pickups in the middle of the night like the last few years.

Happy New Year everyone.

x2boys · 31/12/2019 20:19

Depends where abouts in the 70,s you were born Sock I was born late 73 ,I'm still mid forties certainly not nearly 50 ,oh no😱

Dee03 · 31/12/2019 20:21

I'm in

I'm binge watching The Inbetween on sky, I'm on episode 4 now! I have drinks, snacks and I'll be putting a pizza in the oven shortly Smile

Amys136 · 31/12/2019 20:23

Fireworks here too. I’m hoping it’ll just be a few before midnight, midnight and a few after. I’m still annoyed about the 3 nights either side of bonfire night where fireworks were waking the baby up

Sockbabies · 31/12/2019 20:23

Chinese ordered, baby in bed, comfies on!

Hellokittymania · 31/12/2019 20:24

Can I join? I have earplugs on because I can’t stand fireworks… I have a nice peanut butter hot chocolate and later on I might find something on Netflix.

ALifeMoreCurious · 31/12/2019 20:25

Hey, hey, can I join in? I have a glass of red, gooey Camembert and a doorstop of bread to keep me company. DP just left me on the sofa for the night so he can play with his new project management software. The joy on his face as he ran into the office...

So I’m going to tune into Jools Holland’s Hootenanny just like last year, and the year before that Xmas Grin
