I know it's not exactly exciting fare, but I want a new mug and can't find one that's just right.

Something that is nice to drink from. Half a pint or larger, pretty but not too feminine. I've trawled round town today but no success. So here I am, asking you for your mug recommendations please!

There was a thread with a lot on a few months (or maybe longer...) ago but I've searched and can't find it!

It holds 600ml and cost a couple of quo's from Ikea.

Another fan of the Denby azure large mug, lovely to hold and the stoneware keeps tea warm for longer - my kids know it’s “mummy’s special cup”, I’ve replaced it twice, one got broken and one was nicked from my desk at work.

I love Sophie Allport. Loads of designs. Her standard mugs are quite small but she also does a larger size. I'm going through a girly stage so am loving her peony design, but there's a big range.

Have you looked in the homewares section in TK Maxx? I have a couple of wonderfully chunky and large mugs from there.

My current favourite is a ‘no regerts’ glory that was bought for me. It was spotted in tk maxx and had to live in my house apparently :o

Tesco's Fox & Ivy range? They've got some gorgeous mugs.

My denby azure large mug. It's fabulous

I have them too. They are very satisfying to hold and keep hot drinks warm. They seem to hold about a gallon though! Look out for seconds, they are much cheaper.

I am a Cornishwear fan www.cornishware.co.uk/mugs/cornish-15oz-mug#selection.color=Blue. But my second favourite is one from anthropology, it’s the same size but lower volume of China.

DookofBust · 29/12/2019 08:53

These are my favourite mugs. Big capacity but fairly thin bone china.

Lordfrontpaw · 29/12/2019 08:57

Mine just broke - it had a rude pun on it (for 🦊 sake).

PhilCornwall1 · 29/12/2019 09:07

My favourite one has this on it. My wife bought it for me!! Hmm

I collect Emma Bridgewater 1/2 pint mugs and have about 20, but was delighted to get this Cath Kidston Snoopy mug for Christmas, and it’s now my favourite.

I love my Emma Bridgwater mugs, but I also have some very nice Sophie Conran for Portmeirion ones that match my crockery. Sales on at both at the moment I believe.

@amaryl it's surprisingly hard to hold your posted image in my head but this site has a good selection of mugs so might be worth checking out .

www.finenordic.co.uk/cups-mugs

The house doctor rustic looks possible but lacks the Jeff Banks sloping handle .
