Did breakfast at the homeless shelter then frantically running around sorting out presents and cards (yes, I know, beyond the last minute) and helping dismantling a bed by carting a mattress around. Totally looking forward to people going so DD and I can get into pyjamas and watch It's a Wonderful Life. There may also be GinXmas GrinXmas Wink

Husband finished work at 12.30 and came home at two having gone to the pub with work. He’s now gone to the pub with friends. It’s our wedding anniversary so I’m celebrating on my own. Presents are wrapped, house is semi tidy. The two kids with disabilities are very hyped so not sure how much sleep will be had.

Update for our Christmas eve - googling symptoms of chicken pox since DD suddenly has a dozen little red spots on her body. Confused

Meant to be at a big family Christmas dinner tomorrow at DH's aunt's house but two of his cousins are pregnant. If it is chicken pox we will be making up a plan B.

The good news is that apart from the spots, DD isn't acting ill at all. She's full of beans and in a good cheerful mood. So fingers crossed it's just a random rash.

Fairly lazy day catching up with adult DS who came yesterday. Walked to the town to get some exercise and some milk. All just back from church, lovely service this year. Sitting down with a g&t before popping the dinner on.
Merry Christmas everyone.

Had Nucal scan for baby number 3 - everything looking good and my two boys and Hubby are very excited! Due July 4th!

Getting pissed off with everything. Contemplating fish finger sarnies for lunch, tomorrow.

Went to see It's A Wonderful Life this afternoon. The cinema had mulled wine and mince pies plus a pianist playing christmas carols. It was lovely. Then we went shopping for a few essentials.
I'm going to make soup, bread and wrap the last few bits and pieces. Dh has gone for a nap and DS is playing games with his friends. May have a G&T once everything is done. Gin

Mainly visiting my elderly father who was admitted to hospital in the early hours, crying and feeling thankful for my family (the DC’s and DH). I am back home now and am going to watch a film with my family and have a Baileys.
Fortunately my DC are teenagers now.
Christmas isn’t all happy things for all at this time of year.

@Daddylonglegs1965 Best wishes for your dad's recovery.
Chilling now with DS and DH after Christmas Eve takeaway. More wrapping to do in a bit in front of a Christmas film with a Baileys.

We were supposed to go to a Christingle service (not religious but apparently it is still very welcoming and a lovely event) but dd1 had been sick during the night so we just hunkered down and watched Christmas TV, ate party food and just chilled. It has been the nicest christmas eve ever.
