Drinking. Making gingerbread houses. Clearing out the recycling and general tidying. Singing loudly. It's all good.

Strawberrycreamsundae · 24/12/2019 14:31

I've cleared an ironing mountain (had 8 loads yesterday 😡) put it all away, eaten lunch (home cooked gammon, salad and mashed potato 😋). Now very dozily watching old Inspector Morse films on television.
Am utterly pooped!

GlowWine · 24/12/2019 15:04

Celebrating DHs 50th birthday (low key, just us 4) with cake & prosecco and a roast later. Prepped the veg for tomorrow, goose still to do. Got the last of the Christmas crockery out.
Not much else, a bit of tidying and a walk round the park.

GlowWine · 24/12/2019 15:07

Ahh yes forgot the boring bits: changed the bedding and washed half of it, cleaned the bathroom....

Likethebattle · 24/12/2019 15:19

Just heading home, need to clean before tomorrow, prod my turkey to make sure it’s defrosting, make soup... have a major head could so husband picking up dinner on his way home.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 24/12/2019 15:22

Just heading home from the panto. I've got a few more presents to wrap then DS and I are off to my mum's for Christmas. Will open DS's Christmas eve box, have a takeaway and drinks and watch Home Alone. Perfect!

DrCoconut · 24/12/2019 15:25

Cleaned a bit this morning. Christingle at 5 then making cheesecake for tomorrow. DS's will probably watch TV.

PopcornAndWine · 24/12/2019 15:26

Walk with baby and dog earlier, wrapped presents, lit a fire, later on in laws are coming over for a glass of wine once baby is in bed Smile

Fluffiest · 24/12/2019 15:36

Doing very little today. We are at MIL'S for Christmas and both MIL and I are getting over bugs. I didn't get the Christmas shopping finished this year due to being ill, we left the house in a state and spent yesterday travelling.

So it's very low key today; we've stayed home all morning and just been for a short walk to the park and back to get out of the house. Now we are back at the house, watching Frozen and warming up in front of the wood burner.

I'm wiped out and was not feeling very Christmassy but seeing how happy DD (3 years old) is to be with her grandma is really warming my heart. They don't get to see each other very often so its really special having Christmas together.

AShaveAndAHarecutHalfPrice · 24/12/2019 15:37

I’ve tidied the living room and dining room; am about to check what I have for stockings!

MaryBoBary · 24/12/2019 15:40

I've done some cleaning, prepped the veg and made bread sauce and made a gingerbread house with DS. Now watching a film before going to see my mum in an hour. Then after that it's party food for dinner with another film.

Comps83 · 24/12/2019 15:41

Bouncing on my birthing ball . It’s my due date but no sign of baby. Want to avoid next weeks induction if possible

NoncePieforSanta · 24/12/2019 15:41

Failing at life - left a bag of shopping at the till (accidentally) : gone by the time I went back. Wrenched the door of a stuck kitchen cupboard off. Chipped a tile by dropping a Pyrex dish on the floor. Broke a Pyrex dish. Strained soup down the sink.

Gave up and am now MN instead Grin

greenlynx · 24/12/2019 15:55

We did some shopping, had lunch and now watching TV. Then we all will tackle washing, tidying the house, wrapping and making today’s dinner. It’s just 3 of us so all Christmas cooking will be done tomorrow.

Dowser · 24/12/2019 16:52

Doctors this morning
Then a mooch in town
Now cooking gf and df Yorkshire puds
Then making gf and df custard for gf and df Christmas pud

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 24/12/2019 16:56

I cooked a massive roast for my parents which was lush, BUT I've broken out in a horrendous rash so as soon as they left ran a bath which I'm now in hoping to stop the itching.

I'm grieving, but handling it really well, I reckon my body is reacting to the grief.

Having a quiet evening watching a movie whilst rubbing sudocrem onto myself.

UsernameTaken76 · 24/12/2019 16:57

Working this morning but I WFH so not too bad.

DH has spent this morning cleaning and prepping. Have helped him this afternoon and now I’m watching ER waiting to have dinner and just relax ahead of manic tomorrow with all the in-laws coming.

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 24/12/2019 17:01

This morning I took biggest child to running training and since then we've relaxed, played board games, grazed on food..... kids are all relaxed now, no idea what they are doing but there are no raised voices and smallest occasionally shows up to describe his latest Lego build to me. I'm in the living room fairy lights on, candles burning and in front of a roaring fire. Bliss. I usually work over Christmas but this year I'm off and very much enjoying it.

QueenofLouisiana · 24/12/2019 17:01

We’re on holiday, so lazed by the pool, played cards after lunch to avoid the hottest part of the day, swam a bit this afternoon. DS went to the gym, DH snoozed in the shade.

I’m now getting ready for a cocktail party and dinner.

DeRigueurMortis · 24/12/2019 17:03

Kitchen work mainly.

Cooking the ham for Boxing Day, curries for tonight and veg prep for tomorrow (so basically done the roast parsnips and potato's, mash and made cauliflower cheese - we are having beef tomorrow, I'll leave carrots and broccoli for tomorrow).

Then I'll be cleaning the kitchen given the mess I've made Grin, setting the dining room table for tomorrow and then long bath and relax with a glass (or 2) of champagne.

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 24/12/2019 17:07

Cooking and prep. Hung up mistletoe. Walked dogs.

Did plan to do the ironing but really cba. Now onto G&T.

jess3817 · 24/12/2019 17:08

Watched a couple of christmas films. Taken the kids to the park. Eaten lots of snacks. Attempting to take the kids to midnight mass for the first time later. It's the 2nd time in 9 years I have I have all four of my kids here at home ( we are either at my mums or my two older kids are at their dads) so we thought we do something but special - they wil not be expecting to be able to stay up that late😂 not sure how the tiredness tomoz will go but its only once, amd they're fairly good sleepers...usually😂

Gertie75 · 24/12/2019 17:10

I hate Christmas Eve, I lurk all day desperate for bedtime because I love Christmas Day so much.

This morning I made biscuits with the kids to leave for Santa and have spent the afternoon diffusing arguments because they're so hyper.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 24/12/2019 18:24

Toddler wrangling while DD gets her house cleaned and the presents wrapped. I did ours this morning, two loads of laundry and the fire laid for tomorrow morning. When DW goes to work tomorrow I'll get the joint marinading, get the breadmaker out and do a load of dough for rolls, clear and polish the dining table, get the mud I tracked in off the stairs.

daisypond · 24/12/2019 18:30

Just got home from work. Now sitting on sofa while hoping the Christmas stockings are in the place they should be! We’ll do Christmas tomorrow evening, as I and one DD are working all day tomorrow.
