I was looking for an old thread & thought I might find it in classics. I didn't find it, but probably more to do with the fact that I kept (re)reading old threads.

Found this one & cannot stop laughing - My DH says he wants to take me up the Oxo tower for Valentine's Day... www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics/703760-My-DH-says-he-wants-to-take-me-up-the

What's your fave thread in classics?

Totally agree that most classics post PB are utter made up shite. You need to go back 10 years at least.

catinb0oots · 23/12/2019 08:23

Posters too so. However expectations vs reality is simply brilliant. I've read it several times and it genuinely makes me laugh every time. Might give it another go now Grin

He ate the fucking fatball (not sure of correct title)

Her husband had eaten a fatball from the fridge that the children had made to feed the birds. It was hilarious

Bluesheep8 · 23/12/2019 10:57

Oh the Sistine chapel screamer, that's the best ever!

FlyingPenguine · 23/12/2019 16:15

Wasnt there one where a man was offering intimate massages (yoni massage)? Grin Penis beaker was very funny.

TheNinkiestNonk · 23/12/2019 16:23

Elderly Korean lady !

TheNinkiestNonk · 23/12/2019 16:30

And OMG the spray painted pigeon hahaha

TheCanterburyWhales · 23/12/2019 16:34

The fatball was bollocks. Even before the guys on Reddit were able to spot a troll at 20 paces that was always made up crap. Variations of it have appeared in those take a break style mags for years.

Elderly Korean Lady remains casually racist now, as it did then. Ditto Mexicans and Spangrans.

I have a theory that they're all written by the same people.

Hepzibar · 23/12/2019 16:43

Canterbury No! Was it? Bloody hellbI am as gullible as Fk.

Not the first time I've fell for a troll and won't be last Confused

YuletideFairy · 23/12/2019 16:49

There was one about hanging washing out in the dark a few years ago. I was in hospital at the time and it really cheered me up.

ALongHardWinter · 23/12/2019 16:58

Snapped and farted has to be one of my favourites.

ColdCottage · 01/01/2020 23:21

I think there should be a rule, you can't mention a great thread without the link to it.

I'm still searching for the Mexican House Thief one.

QueenOfOversharing · 04/01/2020 21:07

@ColdCottage there should be a rule that you RTFT... I posted that link! 😂

Hold on... brb

@AuntieStella yes absolutely. Best of Classics, no question about it.

ColdCottage · 08/01/2020 00:14

@QueenOfOversharing thank you I'd read so many threads by this point I'd given up hope.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 08/01/2020 00:22

Very old, and it's full of holes now, but The Least Illustrious Moments of my Professional Career thread was fantastic.

The "civil liberties lobberty" and "equality for all life forms" still make me laugh.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 08/01/2020 00:28

T Rexing in Asda

QueenOfOversharing · 08/01/2020 04:47

@ColdCottage haha! I know the feeling!!

I have to admit I did like the Sharon threads (DH threw wine at the wall and shouting at me in the supermarket) because they were clearly rubbish. But bizarre "box-of-frogs" rubbish. And funny because of the responses.

One of my favourites was the bridezilla one which coined the "are you on glue?" phrase - think it was Tidydancer but will check - being asked to decorate the wedding reception but not actually invited to the wedding! And I've just discovered it's not even in Classics, but is in AIBU still. I'm sure it was recommended for Classics![https://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/1807864-to-say-no-to-this-request-from-a-friend]] This is the first of 3 threads about it (I know!) and it doesn't seem very funny to start with but it gets better.

I just dont understand why everyone thinks penis beaker is so funny, I dont think it is, at all, in any way.

lastqueenofscotland · 08/01/2020 10:35

Snapped and farted made me laugh so much at the time I couldn’t breathe properly
