There was a bad car accident in town earlier today.

I’ve just seen a post on the local buy and sell page from a woman saying she has no idea who the injured woman was but she wishes her a speedy recovery and the fire service were great and oh yeah the police for thanking me for offering to stay and give medical assistance.

Grin

I’m sure it will get a hundred “ur so kind hun x” in response!

(Where it says “me”- I mean the woman writing the post- not me! Grin)

I hate those type of posts.
Recently there was one on my local Facebook that made me cringe and laugh at the same time-

It went something like this-
“To the girl in front of me in the line at Aldi. I hope you’re ok, don’t worry about not having enough money for your shop. And I promise I didn’t mind paying for it, no need to pay me back I just hope you’re ok. Inbox me if you need to”

🙄🙄🙄🙄

Cringe! They might as well just say “I was a real hero today”

I know someone that left a banana and a bottle of water on a homeless person's sleeping bag, took a photo of it then put the photo on Facebook so everyone could congratulate her on her good deed.

BrutusMcDogface · 20/12/2019 19:18

People are twats.

WireBrushAndDettolMaam · 20/12/2019 19:20

Shock

How can they be so unaware so as not to see how transparent they are?

She has the biggest opinion of herself ever! Her whole life is played out on social media and she is constantly telling everyone how wonderful she is.

Onthebrink87 · 20/12/2019 19:23

Oh god I bet she's one of those who checks in at a & e 🖕

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 20/12/2019 19:24

This is slightly different, but the woman who posted at midday on the local community noticeboard on FB about how she'd seen an ambulance go into the village primary and she hoped whichever child was involved was ok really took the biscuit for me.

WireBrushAndDettolMaam · 20/12/2019 19:26

^^ sending half the parents into a tailspin when they read that on their lunch break! How thoughtless.

All these posts are making me think of Mumsnet

Never let a good deed go unannounced Xmas Grin

OrangeTwirlGate · 20/12/2019 19:31

@pollyhampton
That is hilarious 😂
I have a Facebook friend who would do just the same. What a bunch of heroes!

Grin Yep! I’ve seen loads of these on MN.

What twat behaviour.

DecemberSnow · 20/12/2019 19:45

See these on my local fb pages, all the time

Patroclus · 20/12/2019 19:51

the fucking yougens taking a photo of them being a hero to a homeless get me steaming with anger.

carlywurly · 20/12/2019 19:55

Oh god yes. Like when people find bank cards and post all over Facebook. Just give it to the bank fgs.

There's a surge of people trying to get Christmas cards to their rightful owners too. If the owners were bothered, they'd have told the sender that they'd moved Grin

Hang on- is this an actual thing? There’s more than one idiot that’s done it? Shock

Local FB pages are the WORST.

What’s particularly pissing me off at the moment is all the people asking for recommendations of local food banks to donate to.

All supermarkets locally have food bank collection points. But they just want to show off about being such a good, kind, generous person I’m sure. Grrr.

Haworthia · 20/12/2019 20:06

Haha, yes! I’ve seen loads of these this week.

I received a card the other day and didn’t recognise the addressee. It wasn’t the previous occupants or the ones before them. Maybe it was the wrong house number. Either way, I lobbed it in the recycling without a second thought Xmas Grin

AdoptedBumpkin · 20/12/2019 20:15

Very pretentious. Those kinds of people often aren't even that nice.

AdoptedBumpkin · 20/12/2019 20:17

Few of those in my village I fear.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 20/12/2019 20:18

I am one of the admins for our local FB page... some of the stuff that gets submitted makes me want to cry.

We had a race to announce that someone had been killed in a car crash earlier this week, complete with photos of the crash and descriptions of the victim. Horrendous. (I didn't approve any of those!)

That’s quite disgusting! What is wrong with people?

My local fb page is always full of "just seen an ambulance/police car/air ambulance hope everyones ok " roughly translated as I'm a nosey cow and want to know what the gossip is so I can tell my friends
Or people that whige because a police helicopter is too loud and their DC cant sleep because obviously the police mainly launch a helicopter search for fun, but sometimes just to annoy parents of young children FFS
