There was a bad car accident in town earlier today.

I’ve just seen a post on the local buy and sell page from a woman saying she has no idea who the injured woman was but she wishes her a speedy recovery and the fire service were great and oh yeah the police for thanking me for offering to stay and give medical assistance.

Grin

I’m sure it will get a hundred “ur so kind hun x” in response!

All these posts are making me think of Mumsnet

No, the MN one is posted in AIBU

"I saw an accident today and I did a first aid training morning last year so I went up and offered to help the paramedics. The police thanked me but said I wasn't needed. WIBU to ask if they needed help?"

Oh yah this

My local fb group is hilaire, in the last few weeks we’ve had one woman ask where she can volunteer over christmas ‘but will let me take my kids along so they can see how fortunate they are’ and after the election one woman post going oh no it’s so awful can we do something like club together and buy a house and ringfence it for social housing, it makes my fucking blood boil tbh, they mean well these ppl but they have zero self awareness.

Sounds like our local fb page! Virtually every supermarket (and there are several in the town) has a box for food banks but still everyone has to ask.someone I know even posted a pic of the wealth of goods they were about to donate.
We also have a lot of "to the person who..." usually detailing some unsociable parking/driving/splashing someone by driving through a puddle ...which would be annoying for up to about 5 min but not worth the effort of typing out for intended person not to read or give a shit anyway
And all manner of other pointless questions that could much more quickly be answered by Google!!

A lot of people don't seem to get the bank card thing- I lose my bank card, you find it. Hand it in to the nearest shop/ pub/ whatever and call the number on the back of the card that says 'if this card is lost or stolen call..' tell them where you're handing it in and they block it. I then realise I've lost my card, call them and they say 'It's at The White Lion/ The Oxfam shop on Oxford Street/ the library on Drury Lane' and I then go and get my card from them, go through the security checks and they unblock my card. Far more efficient than posting on FB when I might live 50 miles away or not use SM. I've had this happen when my card was handed into the local school, lost, blocked and reunited and unblocked within 4 hours!
