Serious jockin' (no g)

Finished work slightly early today, and had Steve Wright on Radio 2 for the drive home.

Is the Serious Jockin (no g) with DJ Silly Boy supposed to be entertaining? Am I missing something?

Almost an hour of "big shaaauuuuttttt owwwt" to Billy and Jane travelling to Tesco to do some serious shoppin' (no g), Tom and Mandy going to the gym, serious squashin' (no g).

In 10 minutes, the term jockin' was used 38 times. I don't get it. It was just bloody annoying - I've just replaced my car and haven't worked out how to programme the radio, and I like it on for the traffic reports otherwise I would have switched it off, but I'm slightly miffed that the licence payer is funding this crap.

I love serious jockin', gets me in a weekend mood. Plays some decent tunes as well

I like the music in that segment but tend to listen to it on catch up or download so you can forward through anything that you don't like.

Couldn't agree more. I used to love listening to some of the topics on Jeremy Vine and then couldn't turn the radio off fast enough when Wright started. Ugh.

I can't stand it.

He does play some good tunes but the 'jockin' shite and the fact that he talks/sings over every record makes it not worth listening to.

I haven't listed to Steve Wright for a long time now.

Never listen to Radio 2 in the afternoon for this very reason. Ken Bruce, however, is like my best friend of a morning. 😊

I just can't.

I've never been able to cope with listening to radio 2 in the daytime, but since they got rid of Simon Mayo and Chris Evans I've had to fully retune radio 4, like an actual grown up.

Love listening to Radio Two for his Slot-Do not mind Jeremy Vine but that depends on the topic.
Not keen on Steve Wright at all-His singing over songs annoys.

Threads about how shite Steve Wright is (and also about bloody Chris Evans when he was on radio 2) pop up fairly regularly. Pretty much everyone hates him. So who fucking listens to this drivel on the radio?? I haven't for years. Second the idea of listening to Shaun Keaveny on radio 6 instead.

Can cope with Ken Bruce though. He's ok.

I hate serious jockin! And I generally enjoy most of radio 2.
They're not puns!! Just taking a g off the end if a word does not make it a pun!
(Zoe ball is irritating, I wanted her to do well but it's just dull. Jeremy vine is good, Sarah cox is great, love graham norton, dermot and rylan at weekends)

I don't mind SW's jockin' but hate it when he plays a genuinely classic dance song as I feel it's been tarnished by him! I'm sure Patrick Topping never made his records to be played by SW 😮

However I've really warmed to Zoe and like listening to her in the mornings. So much better than Chris Evans 👍

And to the poster who dissed Ken Bruce... hang your head in shame 😉

I had an MRI scan last year where they played this crap through the headphones at me despite me asking for radio 3. I nearly pressed the emergency button.
