My first adult Christmas in my own house. I am giddy with excitement at eating whatever i want for a change! Would love some ideas for breakfast. What is everyone having?

We're doing brie, prosciutto and cranberry croissants here.

Winterdaysarehere · 19/12/2019 15:04

Dc make a menu!. Variations of a full English.
Crepes.
Cereal /toast
Lots of tea and ds always has a bottle of beer!! Urgh!!

ifonly4 · 19/12/2019 15:12

Whatever you enjoy. I have grapefruit, while DH has his usual bowl of cereal. We all enjoy crossiants so have them with fruit juice after.

If you like alcohol, you might even be interested in a bottle of bubbles!

Scrambled eggs & smoked salmon for me and cocopops for ds.

I don’t have time to cook any other time of year so a huge treat.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 19/12/2019 15:20

Salmon on either bagel or toast
Kids usually just have cereal as they're not fussed with above
selection box

Swisskit · 19/12/2019 15:26

@Mintjulia I find it so sad that the only day of the year you have time to cook is Christmas Day. Can you not sort that out??

bluebellation · 19/12/2019 15:29

DH will do himself a fry up and DD and I will probably have fruit, yogurt, pastries, or we might make pancakes.

Babdoc · 19/12/2019 15:31

I’m usually up earlier than the family on Christmas morning, so I have my normal porridge and fresh brambles with coffee, before cleaning out the hearth and lighting the log fire ready for them opening presents, then I do hot croissants and fresh orange juice or Buck’s Fizz when they get up. It helps that they’re all grown up now, and nobody wants to get up terribly early when we’ve all been out to the village Watch Night service on Christmas Eve until late.

Mintjulia · 19/12/2019 15:37

swisskit It’s not sad, don’t worry. It’s probably good for me Smile

I’m a single mum with a full time job and an 11yo plus his mate to get on to the 7.30 school bus. Mornings are chaos but I do make sure ds has melty butter & marmite toast & some fruit, I’m not neglecting him, honest.

I usually have a coffee & a banana when I get to work.

PhilomenaChristmasPie · 19/12/2019 15:38

The kids will have chocolate. I'll have mince pie porridge.

mclover · 19/12/2019 15:42

A selection box Grin

Bluntness100 · 19/12/2019 15:42

Smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, croissants and a range of spreads from chocolate to jam. Plus either red berry Bellinis, or Buck's Fizz,

Hollachica · 19/12/2019 15:42

Smoked salmon scrambled eggs on lovely toast/bread with fresh orange juice and champagne .

katmarie · 19/12/2019 15:45

Smoked salmon bagels, because they're indulgent but reasonably quick. On boxing day dh is making eggs Benedict which is my ultimate favourite breakfast.

KenDodd · 19/12/2019 15:46

We have -
Warm croissants and pastries
Fresh fruit salad
Natural yogurt
Granola
Apple juice from our apple trees (was frozen)
Smoothies
Coffee

Mid morning during present opening we have champagne/ bucks fizz those round smoked salmon bite size things and panettone.

KenDodd · 19/12/2019 15:47

Maybe toasted panettone would be nice?

cheesenpickles · 19/12/2019 15:48

I'm making these bad boys Grin

Christmas breakfast
GloGirl · 19/12/2019 15:48

Frozen ready to bake pain au chocolat and Santa always brings really gross sugary cereal that the kids adore.

ohmysoul · 19/12/2019 15:49

I'm having warm croissants with butter and a glass of bucks fizz. DH wants bagels and cream cheese. DD will probably have chocolate.

BodenGate · 19/12/2019 15:51

Brie and cranberry croissants sound amazing!

JustaScratch · 19/12/2019 15:51

I'm going to do American style pancakes. DH will have them with bacon and scrambled eggs, DD will have them with blueberries and maple syrup. I've discovered a technique where you whip the egg white separately and fold it in - that way you don't need baking powder - and it works brilliantly. DMiL is doing lunch!

Peanutbutteryogurt · 19/12/2019 15:53

Probably croissants and bucks fizz

RhubarbAndMustard · 19/12/2019 15:54

Smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and bubbles for the adults. Croissants for the kids. Can't wait.

Babypug · 19/12/2019 15:55

Champagne & as soon as it's acceptable pigs in blankets (bloody love the things)!

WeirdPookah · 19/12/2019 15:55

We have fresh home made sausage rolls.

It's a childhood thing when I would help myself to them as my parents were feeding the animals, milking goats etc and we couldn't wait to eat!

So now become something that I share with my children despite only having one elderly cat to feed!
