Celebrities you can’t warm to

Does anyone have any celebrities they can’t really ‘warm to’ or don’t get great vibes about for no reason at all, even though they are generally very well-liked?

Mine is Justin/Mr Tumbke, I know everyone loves him but I just get these vibes that he’s actually a total diva and the tv/stage persona is just that. But then I’m probably totally wrong.

Anyone else?

I have an aversion to Gloria Hungerford i can't take to her at all!

Chickychickydodah · 18/12/2019 11:56

Rylan he makes me feel sick 🤢
Gemma Collins (Wants it all but doesn’t want to do anything for it)
Kardashians drama drama drama
Greg shepherd Wants to be famous but is a w⚓️🤢

hanahsaunt · 18/12/2019 11:57

Nadiya Hussein. Ruthless and manipulative. Have disliked her from her start on Bake Off.

Teddy1970 · 18/12/2019 12:00

Danny Dyer, I just don't get the hype surrounding him, he seems to be everywhere trying to sound really tough..

nowaypose · 18/12/2019 12:03

Holly Willoughby is a horrible person IRL. My friend works on celebrity juice, Fearne is lovely but Holly definitely is not.

I can’t stand Jameela Jamil. To me she’s just a former T4 presenter, I don’t understand why she’s made it in America or why everyone thinks the sun shines out of her arse. The abortion story was Hmm as well, totally unnecessary attention seeking.

DarlingNikita · 18/12/2019 12:06

Tess Daly. Fake, rubbish at talking to people, patronising on Strictly ('Look at your widdle face!' to grown men and women). Think she'd run over her own nan for a good gig.

Ecocabby, I think Ed Sheeran looks like the village idiot.

I can't fucking stand Michael Ball and Alfie whatisname as a double act. Like a pair of drunken mates 'singing' down the pub.

Michael Macintyre and his stupid face.

Jimmy Carr. Smug. Not as clever as he thinks he is.

I adore Danny Dyer these days, since his David Cameron 'trotters up' rant Grin

oldwhyno · 18/12/2019 12:11

Fearne Cotton. Dead behind the eyes.

Mrsjayy · 18/12/2019 12:14

That was hilarious "where is the effin geezer" and so on Darlingnakita

Patroclus · 18/12/2019 12:16

Olivia Coleman, having to be in everything and ruining it like Keira Knightley used to.

Bunnylady53 · 18/12/2019 12:17

It’s Gloria Hunniford. I can’t be doing with Naga on BBC Breakfast either

Itschristmasimallowedwine · 18/12/2019 12:18

Kimberly Walsh - it’s irrational but I just cannot stand the woman. Her year of strictly was the worst Angry

Bunnylady53 · 18/12/2019 12:19

Alison Hammond - really just want to give her a slap & that is so unlike me!

CatInTheDaytime · 18/12/2019 12:22

Anna Friel winds me up terribly, don't know why. I never see her as the character she's playing, just as her rage-inducing self!

Jude Law similar.

Tess Daly just seems like she has huge barriers up and is hiding behind a cascade of blonde brittle blandness. I imagine she's nice really but on Strictly it's like she's just a mask - especially in contrast to Claudia who is quite relaxed and chummy.

I don't know how anyone could ever have warmed to Philip Schofield, so smarmy!

I don't mind Olivia Colman and I think she's a good actor, but I think it's hard when someone is rammed down your throat so extensively and you feel like YOU MUST ADORE THIS NATIONAL TREASURE OR ELSE.

keepingbees · 18/12/2019 12:23

Lucy-Jo Hudson. Didn't like her even years ago in Corrie, but don't know why. She just seemed very full of herself.

I agree about Justin Fletcher. I think he's fab as Mr Tumble but out of character I get the impression he's quite power hungry and ruthless. We had noticed he's always star of the pantomimes too. Usually makes a grand entrance to huge cheers and applause as though he's the celebrity guest appearance.

Patroclus · 18/12/2019 12:25

ohhh is that why Jameela Jamil has suddenly reappeared?

I think it was her going on the other week saying people cant be expected to know George Bush started the Iraq war?

Pyjamaface · 18/12/2019 12:27

Loads of them tbh. Ant and Dec, Phillip Schofield, Rylan, Holly Willoughby, Jamie Oliver, Angel Whats-her-face from Escape to the Chateau.

But the one that's likely to get me kicked off MN is

Idris Elba. Absolutely cannot stand him

Dreamersandwishers · 18/12/2019 12:29

Another vote for Gloria Hunniford. Just have to switch her off
Lily Allen
Stephen Fry and that frightfully dull QI . Not in the slightest bit interesting actually.

boble1 · 18/12/2019 12:29

James Cordon, Robbie Williams, Jamie Oliver, Eamonn Holmes, Danny Dyer, Philip, Schofield, to name a few.

Love Rylan though

EcocabbyRickShaw · 18/12/2019 12:30

darlingnikita I think you are right about Ed Sheehan looking like the village idiot Grin

DarlingNikita · 18/12/2019 12:31

Mrsjayy, yes, it's a tour de force Grin

I'd forgotten about Anna Friel but she pisses me off too. Always sort of wan-looking and peaky. Can't act.

Sagradafamiliar · 18/12/2019 12:34

Stacey Soloman, although I used to quite like her. The over sharing is absolutely ridiculous now and so is the 'friendship' with Mrs Hinch. She's just another celeb who has had another baby, and used that baby to network and money spin. They're all bloody at it.

Quirrelsotherface · 18/12/2019 12:39

Olivia Colman. I feel like it's the Emperor's new clothes, being told how BRILLIANT she is.

Quirrelsotherface · 18/12/2019 12:41

Also Ore Oduba, so arrogant, no warmth.

foxychox · 18/12/2019 12:42

Amanda Holden - of course, Kerry Katona and Katie Price, anyone from TOWIE...
I used to be meh about Olivia Coleman but I thought she was hilarious in Fleabag!

Kazzyhoward · 18/12/2019 12:45

I really struggle with most celebrities. They usually come across as self obsessed and playing up for the media attention - comes with territory I suppose.

I tend to prefer people like Ben Shepherd who just competently do their job without always talking about themselves. I used to talk to Jim Bowen who used to come into the shop I worked in when I was a teen, - he's of the same ilk - he always came across as a "nice guy" on the TV and was exactly the same in real life, surprisingly quiet, well mannered and thoughtful - probably why he disappeared from the TV as he doesn't fit the modern "sleb" culture.
