What would you like for Christmas?

I don’t necessarily mean expensive gifts. If you could receive anything this Christmas, what would made you feel that someone had made the effort?
What could they buy/make/do to show they care?

I would truly love a photo book of family pictures. My dh is a wedding photographer so the editing and sorting of our pictures comes last to paying client.

BillywigSting · 14/12/2019 14:22

I would just like a Christmas with no drama, no sulking, no tears, no sly digs.

I fear I may be asking too much so I'm going with a green sparkly fire breathing unicorn please.

Honestly? My loans paid off. That would be amazing. But a scarf would be nice. Smile

myohmywhatawonderfulday · 14/12/2019 15:42

A rose gold fancy smancy oral b toothbrush
A tru diamonds ring (because I want a massive diamond but I won't get that! So I think this is a very good compromise).
Skin Ceuticals face stuff

DH has already said that everything I chose (above) was too expensive so I will just have to get it myself slowly but surely.

DrDiva · 14/12/2019 15:44

An unbroken night’s sleep.

That unicorn is sounding like a good alternative, though...

FixItUpChappie · 14/12/2019 15:54

I would like a fun board game or two to play over the holidays. That's it.

Every year I tell my husband that's all I want but he always freaks out about shopping and comes back with an assortment of other things instead that cost too much Hmm

Honeybee85 · 14/12/2019 15:58

I would like to spend Christmas in my own country. With DH and DS (it’s his first Christmas).
I would like to go for a nice long walk in the forest, eat traditional Christmas foods and enjoy spending time with loved ones that aren’t here.

Chickenwing · 14/12/2019 16:10

My list to santa this year would be:

A bottle of baileys
Christmas theme pajamas
Cosy socks
A chocolate orange
A new book
Headphones

copperstrike76 · 14/12/2019 16:26

I would like a card from my DH with a note in it saying we can adopt a rescue dog in the new year. It won't happen...

BlueSwathesChoose · 14/12/2019 16:47

I'd love a weekend away somewhere. I keep saying this to DH. In plain language. I would even sort it myself (as I do all our holidays). I am desperate to go somewhere close by the Europe.

DH is a home bod and doesn't want to go.

Or I'd like a kitten.

SpaceCadet4000 · 14/12/2019 17:46

We are in the middle of closing on our first house but we can't get out of our rental lease without finding a sub-tenant (in the USA, no break clause). So finding someone to replace us so that we can spend money on DIY, decorating and new furniture instead of paying rent + mortgage would be brilliant!

Kalim8 · 14/12/2019 18:13

enjoy spending time with loved ones that aren’t here oh me too, honeybee.

I'd also want unwell family to be 100% well again.

For actual gifts:

I'd like handmade soap from a local community charity
Hotel chocolat chocolates
A moomin tray and moomin travel mug
Beautiful locally made stained glass things - they look like bookmarks but made of glass - or local felt art but they're around £30 & dh would look askance which I've had enough of. How amazing it would be to say what I think/want and feel supported.

SJaneS48 · 14/12/2019 18:14

A day in bed with food and drink brought to me and my DH & DD doing all the stuff I do every day (and not just leaving it for me to do the next!)

Dislocatedeyeballs · 14/12/2019 18:47

Peace n niceness no strops no moods but also a surprise that I haven't specifically written full instructions including weblink for something thoughtful and unusual that I would really like.. Like a signed book by someone I like, birthstone earnings, something nice handmade or a special pair of shoes/bag/item of clothing/lovely jumper I love in my taste that I have never seen before sadly this will never happen cheap red Lacy underwear that stays in the drawer is the go to gift in this house.

TheBigFatMermaid · 14/12/2019 19:02

I would love DD1 to cross stitch me something, but she won't, as she says I do it better! I would love DD2 to crochet or see me anything, as it would be done with love. I would love DS, age 13 to do me a drawing, he is amazingly talented, but doesn't accept it!

TheBigFatMermaid · 14/12/2019 19:02

Sew, not see!

TowerRingInferno · 14/12/2019 19:14

Peace and quiet - 24 hours at home with nobody else around

Bare root roses or hedging plants
Nice mug
Candles
Socks

NotYourTypicalNerd · 14/12/2019 19:16

Honestly? Right now, for someone to make me a cup of coffee!

I make all the hot drinks in this house!

LighteningRidge · 14/12/2019 19:25

I'd like DP to help with our newborn son and to make an effort to show me he cares.

I guess I'll settle for the hamper my mum will do for me though.

dontmentionbookclub · 14/12/2019 19:28

Bottle of sherry and some posh chocolate, everyone be nice to me and go for a lovely long walk with me. Or a puppy.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 14/12/2019 19:35

Honestly? A bottle of gin and someone else to peel the potatoes.

I'll almost certainly be very spoiled at Christmas, but that's really all I want...

Originalyellowbelly · 14/12/2019 19:39

My son to visit.

Straightintoit · 14/12/2019 19:43

Just some quality time with DP, without any friends / family / waifs and strays being invited along.
Oh, and one of those chocolate cakes they used to do in Littlewoods Cafe.

WwfLeopard · 14/12/2019 20:17

A clone of myself so I can actually have a day off, from everything, a proper full day off
