What would you like for Christmas?

I don’t necessarily mean expensive gifts. If you could receive anything this Christmas, what would made you feel that someone had made the effort?
What could they buy/make/do to show they care?

A pair of slippers that fit would be lovely. I’d like a replacement for my missing pair of mittens too, they were the best ones I’d ever had and haven’t been seen in the house for over a year.

ForalltheSaints · 14/12/2019 20:39

Showing they care is best demonstrated by being there.

pastaparadise · 14/12/2019 20:40

Big family christmas, with df alive and dm well again.

But if you mean realms of possibility, a diamond ring.

If you mean likely, some warm wellies and new make up

To meet my 2 grandsons.

Gonewiththemadness · 14/12/2019 20:54

I just got the best Christmas gift today, 11 days early!
One of our cats went in to see the vet today for a suspected condition in her mouth which could have eventually killed her if that was the case. It was spotted during anaesthetic when she was spayed recently after having her litter.
We were going to try steroids first followed by a biopsy next month if they didn’t work and I was so worried!
Anyway, went in today. Vet checked her, nurse checked her and whatever it was is GONE! The vet said she’s in great health and there’s no longer any concern Xmas Grin
Best Christmas present ever!

Other than that I love home made gifts and anything home made is always greatfully received although never expected.

bluebellation · 14/12/2019 20:57

A buyer for our house ..

dudsville · 14/12/2019 21:01

A lie in, a wonderful breakfast in bed, a lovely walk, my best pyjamas, films, great food, telephone chats with 2 family members. I'm so, so looking forward to Christmas this year!!!!!

ozymandiusking · 14/12/2019 21:06

I would really like a Panasnic breadmaker. I wont get one as DH says we haven't room in the kitchen. He's right but I would find some where to put it.

OlaEliza · 14/12/2019 21:07

Running trainers & outfit. I want to start running again.
Dressing gown.
Slipper boots.
A Sherpa blanket.
Jeans & hoody.
Some cheap but pretty earrings I saw in the chemist.
A wetsuit so I can use the pool while it's cooler.

Illeana · 14/12/2019 21:08

If we’re talking only about things that are possible, I’d like a day off from childcare, a huge pizza and a computer game to play in peace. And a garden arch or obelisk to grow my roses up.

ozymandiusking · 14/12/2019 21:09

Gonewiththemadness
I'm so please your cat is well. What a wonderful Christmas present.

MondeoFan · 14/12/2019 21:11

Some decent skincare
Bottle of Jack Daniels honey
To watch tv uninterrupted
For no one to argue or get the hump

JigsawsAreInPieces · 14/12/2019 22:02

Something from DH that I've not sent him a link to or told him what I’d like.

A surprise, basically. 🙄

Gonewiththemadness · 14/12/2019 22:05

Thank you @ozymandiusking Xmas Smile I was an emotional wreck inside full of panic about what might be and I left grinning like a Cheshire Cat! Merry Christmas Xmas Grin

ozymandiusking · 14/12/2019 22:12

Howmanysleepsnow · 15/12/2019 09:53

Another year’s book subscription
Sanctuary bath stuff
Evening fire Yankee candle (think it may be discontinued though)
Anything the dc take time to choose me
Horse riding voucher and time to go
Dubarry boots
Nice underwear
A cat (DH hates cats so I can’t have one)

MotherHeggy · 15/12/2019 10:01

My boss has given me Christmas Eve off, she's doing my shift for me.
I didn't ask for it,she told me.It's the first time in over 5 years that I've had all three days off.

Best present ever.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/12/2019 10:01

I'd like to be able to turn back time and rep-do the election without a load of bloody idiots voting Tory.

In terms of actual 'stuff', I'd like:
silk pyjamas or a silk nightdress

a large voucher for Daunt books and half a day to browse in there spending it (and somebody to carry them all home on the train for me)

posh afternoon tea

a ring, chosen by dp

WeirdAndScary · 15/12/2019 17:15

I'd like a suprise that is actually something I like rather then DH just panicking and buying a 'thing' which almost fits the bill, if you know what I mean?

Or an eternity ring but it's been made clear that that's not happening this year.

Ted27 · 15/12/2019 17:17

60 paving slabs to make paths on my allotment

TSSDNCOP · 15/12/2019 17:21

A dachshund. I’d like. Miniature smooth-haired. I will call him Claude.

SymphonyofShadows · 15/12/2019 17:26

I was really ill last Christmas so this year I want to really enjoy it. Other than that I’d like a Telecaster, but I’d have to buy it myself as DH is clueless about such things.

rhubarbcrumbles · 15/12/2019 17:30

@Iggyace Why don't you edit the photos and make a photo book yourself?

moolady1977 · 15/12/2019 17:36

I'd really like from my oh and dc a present I haven't picked ,paid for and wrapped myself ,my oh does pay for the stuff he just says you buy it and I'll transfer you the money , like a pp said I just want a surprise
