Good luck y'all. May the best man win!

Happy voting everyone.

DoTheHop · 12/12/2019 01:26

I'm really hoping my woman beats the polls. I voted by post. If she does it will be newsworthy.

Is everyone voting today? Know decisively who's getting your x?

MustardScreams · 12/12/2019 07:08

Yes and yes. I’ve had about 4 hours sleep because I’m too wired for today. Dreading the exit polls tonight.

DoTheHop · 12/12/2019 07:10

Me too. I've already voted, but it's going to be a close race. It's a traditionally Tory seat (he's a prick - UC anyone?) but a Labour candidate is hot on his heels. I've voted Labour.

Xiaoxiong · 12/12/2019 07:14

No. I feel sick as a dog about my vote. Thank god a) DH is voting the same as me and feels just as bad about it and b) we have a Christmas party tonight so we can drown our sorrows together and dance the night away. Feels like the party on the deck of the Titanic. I tell myself that I voted for the least worst, and tactically but it feels shameful.

letmepeeinpeace · 12/12/2019 07:15

I didn't register to vote. I haven't voted in years but I really regret it now! I would of voted Labour. I'm such a fool

MustardScreams · 12/12/2019 07:17

It’s also my birthday today! Could be the best or worst one depending on the outcome.

DoTheHop · 12/12/2019 07:18

@letmepeeinpeace Plenty more opportunities to vote in the future! Register now (also helps your credit rating!).
Get interested. Focus on what matters to YOU. You'll find an opinion!

Happy Birthday Mustard!

DoTheHop · 12/12/2019 07:20

@Xiaoxiong Not too late to change your mind if it's not sitting right with you!

OP posts:
letmepeeinpeace · 12/12/2019 07:22

I think that's what it is. It's never interested me but seeing austerity, school cuts etc makes me realise I need to start campaigning and getting involved

Xiaoxiong · 12/12/2019 07:26

None of them sit right with me. Each party has made support of something I profoundly disagree with and distrust a condition of supporting them. I'm a gender critical Remainer who cares deeply about the environment that and sees Momentum destroying a great party, living in a safe Tory seat with no smaller parties even standing (I don't think we even have a Green candidate).

DoTheHop · 12/12/2019 07:26

@letmepeeinpeace You might find you're actually very opinionated when it boils down to it.

I just follow the fuckers on Facebook and draw my conclusions from there and media spin I guess.
I like having a tiny miniscule input.

DoTheHop · 12/12/2019 07:28

@Xiaoxiong It's not too late to contact the candidates today - maybe see who actually responds to your concerns. Not sure if they'll have much time, but, try it. If it gets you decided, then that's good work.

OP posts:
Xiaoxiong · 12/12/2019 07:38

Already done. They're all shit Sad I mean, the only one who is personally shit is the Tory, but the only tactical vote here is Lib Dem. It feels like an utter betrayal as they kicked me out of the party a year ago saying my gender critical views were not welcome and they actively didn't want my vote. And here I am giving them my vote anyway EnvySad

Xiaoxiong · 12/12/2019 07:39

Sorry to be Eeyoreish. I know you're just trying to help.

I'll need a stiff Wineafterwards. (Where's the gin bottle gone!?)

DoTheHop · 12/12/2019 07:47

Lol Xiao.
I don't know, if you've got to be tactical to get your best outcome, so be it.
I suspect a lot of NI voters are voting with it stuck in their craw.

OP posts:
kimlo · 12/12/2019 07:53

I've just voted. It's a safe labour seat but looking at the local page on facebook this is the first time I have ever been worried that it might go to the torys. Hopefully the torys are just more vocal on there than usual.

Luckylassiam · 12/12/2019 07:56

Just about to vote Conservative. Can’t wait

Baguetteaboutit · 12/12/2019 08:03

I've already got up and voted. I'm in a marginal seat so no comfort that my vote won't make a difference. I was up at 5am still choosing between death by shooting or hanging. Voted Labour in the end, bastards.

DoTheHop · 12/12/2019 08:07

Anyone else get emotional when they vote? A bit like screaming at the Michelangelo, but I always get tears!

OP posts:
PotholePalace · 12/12/2019 08:09

What will the news reporters talk about all day?

Whyjustwhy23 · 12/12/2019 08:10

Which best man there isn’t one 😱

Still don’t know how to vote!

DoTheHop · 12/12/2019 08:13

WhyjustWhy - maybe tell us what your main concerns are and we can figure out which candidate in your are will best serve those interests?
