I put up a curtain rail in front of the kitchen door. Curtain is up. That job has been waiting a month.
Put black out curtains up in dd room mumblemumbleboughtthem14monthsagomumblemumbleBlush
Chicken in the slow cooker. Hoovered. Laundry. Dishes done. Recycled. I looked at the rain drenched wreck of the garden, thought nope, not today.
Just waiting now for dd to come home so I can put the kettle on.
Still in pj's Smile
How was your day?

Half day today so I went to a National Trust park for lunch! On my own! Lovely, peaceful afternoon. Smile

Sounds like you've had a great of day OP!

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 09/12/2019 16:08

Very productive. I came off nights, set my alarm for 1pm. actually got up at 2 and watched tv until 3.30. 2 dc now home and I've just showered and really need to get dressed and go pick another dc up from an after school club. Then I need to do beavers and cubs.

Lllot5 · 09/12/2019 16:10

Changed the bed. Bit of hoovering. On line shop. Now watching miss marple.

Spudlet · 09/12/2019 16:14

You’ve been so productive!

DS goes to preschool on Monday so it’s my day off too. I dropped DS off, went for a run, bought a stocking filler present that DS took a shine to on Saturday but put back when told to (he’s almost 4). Came back, had a coffee and a snuggle with the old dog, then had a nice Epsom salts bath, washed my hair, got dressed, had some lunch. Made some Nutella fudge for Christmas presents and cleared all that up, picked up DS, did some speech therapy with him, and now we’re watching Frozen together. I’m on the floor as DS and old dog have taken the whole sofa over Grin

happypotamus · 09/12/2019 16:18

It is my day off today too. I went to the city centre to do some Christmas shopping. That wasn't much fun or as successful as I might like. I came home in time for a quick drink before collecting DDs from school. Now to make dinner, sort out homework etc, get DD1 ready for Brownies before I go to help at Guides, then tidy up and make DD's packed lunch and iron school shirts before bed.

Floralnomad · 09/12/2019 16:24

Glass man came and put a new window in the garage , I’ve walked my dog and this evening I’m dog sitting for my dsis who has gone to see Michael Buble because her dog is about 302 and can’t be left for more than 20 minutes .

MinnieMountain · 09/12/2019 16:26

I don't work on Mondays.
I swam, went to Pilates then spoke to a recruitment consultant.
After that I went to the train station to print off tickets for a stupidly early train on Wednesday.
I sent school photos to DGPs. Fixed our back gate (bashed a nail in it).
Later I'm taking DS to his swimming lesson.
And I read with the cat on my lap.

bloodywhitecat · 09/12/2019 16:28

Still settling in the baby, I am a foster parent and the baby came to me on Friday afternoon. I've kept the toddler safe and the puppy has done some dog training. All in I think I am winning my battle to have a calm household. Just.

Bunnylady53 · 09/12/2019 16:35

Day off for me too. Family therapy first thing which turned out to be very interesting. Then home with DH for a bit as he wasn’t starting work til 11 & he got the rabbits up & fed them. I then popped to Aldi for 2 items but ended up spending £24. Was supposed to blitz the house! Actually I have done some of it. Really needs sorting before Christmas as my folks are coming on the big day. Fell asleep watching “ Doctors” ( I often do that although I enjoy it). Now pottering whilst DD & a friend play on the laptop. Should be peeling spuds for a roast

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 09/12/2019 16:37

Had to accompany DD to doctor's as her back had gone. Bought tree lights as we lost the transformer again. Cleaned kitchen, which means the table is visible and the floor tile grout is white again. This evening we'll finish the tree.

Back to work tomorrow, rush hour start.

Dowser · 09/12/2019 16:38

Roasting myself at the beach

Rainbow145 · 09/12/2019 16:42

Tommorow is my 1st day back at work. I took the baby to swimming lessons, ordered the photo's I need to collect and then have spent the rest of the afternoon snuggling the baby and sorting out the washing (as he's alseep.)

Gertie75 · 09/12/2019 16:45

I work Mondays, I work from home though so finished at 4 and was in my PJ's and sat on the settee by 4.10.
I'm planning to drink Bailey's and write my Christmas cards this evening.

willowmelangell · 09/12/2019 17:00

@Elodie2019 cor lunch alone...I think I will work up to that. Just remembered I have some peanuts in shells. I might go and throw them around the trees in my local park. Used to do that with dd but she is over squirrel watching.
@OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea a lie in. Wow. 3 cats here. No lie in. Nope. You sound really busy! Warm your slippers on the radiator for when you get them all back home.
@Lllot5 Love a bit of Miss Marple. Even if I have seen them.
@Spudlet did they at least let you have a cushion or a blanket? Sounds nice though.
@happypotamus I take my hat off to the Xmas shopping in city centre. Havn't done that in years.....And ironing? Just no. Can't you put a big jumper over the shirts? Put something interesting in the fridge and put your slippers on the radiator for when you get in.
@Floralnomad Aw baby sitting an auld dog? Just awww.
@MinnieMountain Another hat off to you, swimming AND Pilates? Wow. Awsome job on fixing the back gate. Reminds me of when I used a dd broken skipping rope to tie up a gate. Bought her a brand new one. She insisted on telling EVERYONE that I used her rope to fix said gate but never said she got a new one! I have a pile of books to read. But spend too much time on MN to actually, you know, readGrin
You can't mention cat and not tell me their name!Smile

I took the dog for a long off lead walk first thing and I’ve been Christmas shopping with my husband, he has holiday to use up before the end of the year and wanted to go shopping. He wanted some clothes and I was losing the will to live while waiting outside of the changing rooms. At one point I went one way while he went the other on his way to the changing room to try a different size. I had a mooch and then waited for 15 minutes only to have him then appear behind me, he hadn’t actually been into the changing room by then.
Still, I managed to find something for my mother in law who is always tricky to buy for.

Now I’m waiting for an Amazon delivery, it’s six stops away.

Floralnomad · 09/12/2019 17:17

Not awww at all , she’s a nightmare when dsis isn’t in as she keeps getting up to look for her and is prone to just having a pee wherever so I’ve spent the afternoon so far following her in and out to the kitchen and telling her to get back on her sofa . It’s going to be a very long night !

willowmelangell · 09/12/2019 18:12

@DisgraceToTheYChromosome dodgy back is a nightmare. Can't do your bra up. Can't slump and relax, sit, walk. I stopped doing a full on tree decoration years ago. I keep the coloured lights on, got a tub of quality street and hooked them all over. The lights ping off the shiny wrapping and looks great. The chocolate gets eaten and voila! Throw the whole thing in a box and shove it in the cupboard.
@Dowser I am sensing something...yes, yes, the clouds are clearing, you are not in Britain...
@Rainbow145 stop with the sorting washing, get right back and snuggle. That is an orderWink
@Gertie75 You go Gertie with your Baileys! Have a large one for meGrin Kudos for having your Xmas cards already.

@MadisonAvenue Gah! I would rather chew my face off. But win on the MIL pressie. A parcel? For you I hope!
@Floralnomad I hope Dsis left you a can of cola and a bag of crisps. That's what I used to get left and £1.75 for babysitting the neighbours dc. When Dsis gets back, smile and wave...

Mrsjayy · 09/12/2019 18:16

To balance it out i washedout the condenser filter of my dryer it was gross

ParkheadParadise · 09/12/2019 18:25

Took dd to nursery, met up with my sister for breakfast. Went and got my nails done. Collected dd, went to the supermarket.
Spent the afternoon playing with dd's doctors set. I got to lie on the sofa while she bandaged me up and listened to my heartbeat😆😆

willowmelangell · 09/12/2019 18:26

@bloodywhitecat wow that is a lot! Definite win there. No 'just', you are amazing!
@Bunnylady53 how do you get rabbits up? My guinea pigs, well I am not sure they even sleep. Positive news with the £24 spend. I am sure you needed everything, you just didn't realise before you got there. Ahem.
Blitz? Two rooms, the sitting room and the bathroom. That's it. Ban them from anywhere else. A roast on a Monday? Microwave jacket spuds...

Cleaned the house for the vicar to visit. Took dd to school and back. Nothing exciting.

MinnieMountain · 09/12/2019 20:04

Thank you Blush Swimming is quick to recover from. Pilates is nicely fending off my peri-menopausal bloat.

The cat is Ivy.

I had a day off today. Did a bit of DIY. What have you all been up to?
frazzledasarock · 09/12/2019 20:09

Took DD to A&E.

She had an elephant in her apparently.

Ended up at ENT, where they removed an elephant sticker from her ear.

As a well done for being brave, the ENT nurse rewarded DD with..... a sticker 🤦🏻‍♀️

Babdoc · 09/12/2019 20:10

Read the paper, did the crossword, wrapped presents, made a chicken casserole, taught a bridge class, then went to a lovely candlelight carol service in the next village. Retirement is wonderful after 36 years as a hospital doctor!
