Just majorly fucked up things for my 6 year old - what’s wrong with me?

I missed a text from the school about Christ jumper day and DD was the only child not wearing a Christmas jumper. She’s 6 and was really upset.

Today I sent her to a birthday party at 12 with DH to find it had been on at 10 to 12.

I’m so upset for her and disgusted at myself for making such stupid mistakes.

Phone calendars are your best friend. I have about ten reminders for things like this. As soon as we get a school letter or an invote its on there.

You're a SAHM not your family PA. Your DH needs to take some of the mental load. When do you get a rest?

I turned up at school with DS (6) a few weeks again and there was no one there. It was an inset day. Lots of juggling g to do working and being a mum!

I know it doesn't feel like it now but at some point you will look back and laugh about it. We once sent DD to school with her packed lunch from the day before-think rotten apple core, empty juice carton etc. DH and I both assumed the other had made it as it felt heavy (with rubbish!). We felt awful, school acted as if she was malnourished and neglected which had us thinking social services were going to be knocking. She's 18 now and we can laugh about it. If you were a bad parent you wouldn't care about it!

Everyone here is saying “diary, diary, diary” but my DM actually writes things down wrong. So when she reads them back to check details they are useless. Maybe take pictures of the letters/invites? X
