I hope it’s not true with everything that’s going on with Prince Andrew. Anyone else heard this?

So many people claiming not to believe it but who are stirring anyway Hmm

Whattheother2catsprefer · 02/12/2019 08:33

My DH is military (but not nearly important enough to be dick pic'd with Ricey so he's heard nothing) but I can confirm that he does get nonconfidential info via WhatsApp but it's things like remember it's X event next week so you need Y piece of kit.

CallmeAngelina · 02/12/2019 08:42

Maybe the TV presenters are just playing safe; i.e. they're also read the rumours on Twitter and don't want to get caught out wearing something inappropriate just in case. So they've gone for sober colours but jazzed it up with stripy ties and polka dots so they don't look premature.

Is the sperm whale called Queens? Important whale too, she will have a guard of honour and the guards are making their way there on foot.

This would explain the text message, the lack of apostrophe and the need for two week's worth of pants and socks.

ememem84 · 02/12/2019 08:44

its mental to think that in my mums Lifetime (she’s 65) there’s been one monarch. It’s reasonable I think to say that in my lifetime Three different ones will sit on the throne (the queen, the. Prince Charles then prince William).

StealthPolarBear · 02/12/2019 08:46

Yes. My elderly grandad was a young man when she became Queen, she has been Queen all his adult life, and has been all most of us (other than the very elderly) have ever known.

ememem84 · 02/12/2019 08:48

My grandma is 91. And remembers the king.

Doubleraspberry · 02/12/2019 08:50

I totally get the ‘my DH’ irritation and, as I said upthread, it annoys me that right now I am in the dull job and he’s not. In the past it would have been me with the inside info, but we seem to take it in turns to have the gossip. DH has actually been referred to in one of the lists I’ve seen of people who would know early, not because he is remotely exciting or important (even in his own house) but because he is involved in some administrative effort in the event of the death of the sovereign.

Based on my own actual female knowledge and expertise though, there wouldn’t be a 24 hour delay in releasing the news. So that’s that.

Gulsink · 02/12/2019 08:52

I didn't think lizard people died, they just shed their skin and regenerated as another person.

Spacebowlisback · 02/12/2019 08:55

Well, as traitors to the crown, Gibbo and Ricey sure are operating under some sophisticated incognitos. Hope nobody cracks their code!

SpiderCharlotte · 02/12/2019 09:00

One BBC presenter in a blue suit and the other in polka dots and a black leather skirt. Hardly mourning attire.

If my DH was in a position to have this information quickly (he isn't), I wouldn't say so on here, I don't know why you would.

CallmeAngelina · 02/12/2019 09:02

I don't ever believe things like this I read online, but it is a bit unusual for (virtually) everyone on tv this morning is wearing some version of black.

Doubleraspberry · 02/12/2019 09:03

A very good point! Luckily I guess there are very many ‘cog in the wheel’ people who would know without being in any way identifiable.

halcyondays · 02/12/2019 09:08

Anyone in the know would have signed the official secrets acts and shouldn’t even be telling their partners never mind MN, Twitter and the rest. I expect they’d also have had developped vetting to check they were trustworthy.

Why would anyone risk their job just to be first with the news?

FlowerTink · 02/12/2019 09:09

BBC news channel presenter in black, and so is the presenter on sky news. I see Lorraine is in black too on ITV.

Like pp said maybe they've seen online and dressed just in case?

FlowerTink · 02/12/2019 09:09

I mean the BBC news channel not BBC breakfast.

x2boys · 02/12/2019 09:10

To be fair @ememem84 it's entirely possibly it your mum,is 65 there will also be three monarch,s in her life time too!

Doubleraspberry · 02/12/2019 09:10

Sorry, but that’s totally untrue. Many people do sign the OSA but not remotely everyone who would need to do something in the event of the Queen’s death. I have zero intention of being specific about DH’s role but neither he nor any of his colleagues have signed it.

frasersmummy · 02/12/2019 09:14

The official secrets act is signed by every Single member of the civil service and the forces..from the lowest assistant up.
Doesnt mean you know anything but Everyone does sign it and has minimum basic security clearance

StealthPolarBear · 02/12/2019 09:16

No it's not. I'm a civil servant and have not signed it, neither have my colleagues. I used to work for the ministry of defence and did sign in.

GoFiguire · 02/12/2019 09:20

Ten minutes to go .....

halcyondays · 02/12/2019 09:20

Presumably members of the Queen’s staff have at the very least signed some sort of confidentiality agreement and have been vetted. Medical staff and anyone involved in the church would also keep confidential info to themselves.

BlouseAndSkirt · 02/12/2019 09:21

I am wearing black pants and bra as a precaution.
(Radio presenter)

frasersmummy · 02/12/2019 09:22

Yeah I have just realised not all branches of the civil service will.. Sorry
I worked in the lowest grade of m. O. D and had to..

Sorry my bad

StealthPolarBear · 02/12/2019 09:23

Sign IT, not sign in sorry. Though I probably did that too.
