I am so excited! DH is already in the loft finding everything. I'm taking the dcs out this morning, so he can sort everything, then we turn the living room into a winter wonderland 😂❄️

We don’t have a lot of decorations so will be easy enough thank god. Not like doing my mums house which I usually take a day off work to do..!

My crafty friend is also hosting a wreath making workshop this afternoon, with mulled drinks and cake. Yay!

wendz86 · 30/11/2019 08:22

Yes calendars and elf door will go up today. Then tree and everything else tomorrow. Think i'm more excited than the kids.

We are. Having a big tidy up of lounge this morning, corners hoovered etc, not to be touched for another 6 weeks. Then up with the decorations this afternoon. Very excited 😀

Chilledout11 · 30/11/2019 08:24

Going to wait a week or so as have a birthday party first. Enjoy your lovely morning Smile & get the Christmas movies on later!

MagicKingdom17 · 30/11/2019 08:26

Yes!
Hanging the outdoor lights across the front of our house later. I have never done it before - any tips would be warmly welcomed! Wink

CupCupGoose · 30/11/2019 08:27

We are. I don't have time tomorrow so it will be today. Dds friend stayed for a sleepover as her mum went out last night so just waiting for a respectable time to send her home and then we'll get started. I normally love putting the decorations up but can't be bothered rhus year!

ineedto · 30/11/2019 08:28

We got everything out the attic last night. Heading to collect a new tree then begin this morning. Elves will arrive overnight with advent calendars, festive clothing and hot chocolate in time for the DCs waking tomorrow morning.

QueenWhatevs · 30/11/2019 08:30

Me! Me! Me! We're getting the tree once I've eaten the bacon sandwich DH is making for me Grin I'm taking the DC, DH will clean the living room and get the tree stand while we're out. I am possibly more excited than the children, and the toddler is very excited.

Emmagen · 30/11/2019 08:31

Nope not here. We have builders replastering the hall so bit too much mayhem to add a tree into!

Looks like the 16th or 17th will be when we get to get the Christmas decorations out!

ShowOfHands · 30/11/2019 08:36

Yes! Today we're off to a Christmas market and tomorrow I'm singing with my choir at the village light switch on. Decorating will happen inbetween with films and music and December the 1st frivolities!

scrabblecrazy · 30/11/2019 08:38

Meeee!!!!
I've never been this early! Feeling super festive this year so they are going up this afternoon. Not even started shopping yet though 😩

Ohffs66 · 30/11/2019 08:38

Me! Although I have to do a proper clean first which is making it slightly less appealing. More coffee needed I think....

I predict by tomorrow night our estate will have about 50% more trees / twinkly lights up, a handful of people have had theirs up a week or so already.

Pr1mus · 30/11/2019 08:44

Il deffo be decorating this weekend! It's my baby's first Christmas so I'm going all out!

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 30/11/2019 08:47

Yep, tree going up tomorrow🎄
Noticed yesterday about half of the houses had trees/lights up already so I don't think it's too early.

Titsywoo · 30/11/2019 08:48

Yes i will be tomorrow. Have a Xmas event at our house next weekend so want the indoor ones done for that (the outdoor ones have been going up over the last few weeks as we do a charity light display). Looking forward to sticking on some Xmas tunes and making the place look festive! After we've done that we are off to see the lights at Kew Gardens Smile

Thorilicious · 30/11/2019 08:48

@Chilledout11 I've got the marshmallow gin at the ready too!
@Ohffs66 the dcs and I count the decorated houses while in the car. I've said this weekend is the game changer!!

I had contemplated it but after absorbing the lovely excitement on this thread I think I might well go for it.

I am usually so last minute, but this year I have bought a plain birch star wreath which I am decorating with tiny lights and some croched pieces.

I am buying a small real tree from Tesco's - is it too early to get that up?

DragonMamma · 30/11/2019 08:53

Meeeeeee! DS and I are currently drinking tea in bed (Dd is a sloth and won’t get up for hours). DH is downstairs with hoover in hand to shift furniture around and clean behind bits. He’ll then get the tree up and bugger off to football, leaving me and the DC to decorate.

Whoever asked about putting outdoor lights up - I pay somebody to do it Blush because our roof has a really high pitch and we don’t have a set of ladders high enough (not would I want DH up there wrangling with lights and gutter clips)

dudsville · 30/11/2019 08:55

December 1st here! I always put it in my diary to make sure we don't actually book anything in!

lucysmam · 30/11/2019 08:59

Yep; at least the tree is going up tomorrow (I'm hoping I can convince the girls' dad to get it down for me), advent calendars will be hung tonight.

The rest probably over the next week or so, depending how long that takes around other Sunday stuff 🎄

BabyMoonPie · 30/11/2019 09:01

Me! DD is 3 in January so this is the first Christmas she's starting to really understand. After she goes to bed the decorations are going up and I can't wait to see her face in the morning when she sees it all. She thinks Father Christmas puts the decorations up so she's got a parcel from him to open in the morning with an advent calendar, plate for Christmas Eve (for Santa's mince pie and Rudolph's carrot) and Christmas activity and sticker book (will keep her entertained for all of 5 minutes but it was only from the pound shop)

Purplecatshopaholic · 30/11/2019 09:01

Yup. Christmas has come to the Purplecat house, lol. It’s tinsel-tastic. Love it!

MillieMoodle · 30/11/2019 09:02

Yes ours are going up this weekend. The outside lights went up last week as we had a less busy weekend, so had time to put them up, but they haven't been switched on yet. They will go on tomorrow night (or maybe tonight if I can convince DH!).

DH brought all the decorations in from the garage yesterday so I've just got to do a proper clean and then we can get going. He's away at the football all weekend so I've got two overexcited DC to manage too!

Ticklemeelmo · 30/11/2019 09:03

Yes! We are putting the tree up tomorrow and having party snacks to help Smile
