I am so excited! DH is already in the loft finding everything. I'm taking the dcs out this morning, so he can sort everything, then we turn the living room into a winter wonderland 😂❄️

I think so. Would normally be next weekend or the one after, but we get married on 22nd and there’s just so much else to do, tempted to get the tree and decorations sorted this weekend as the next two are jam packed.

CupoTeap · 30/11/2019 09:05

Me, as soon as the dc are back we will be doing ours am so excited Grin

sauvignonblancplz · 30/11/2019 09:08

Yep ! Cleaned yesterday & started getting everything up. Couldn’t stop so only a few bits to do today.
Also want to make my wreath & stair garland .

Nooooo!! It’s way too early for me, probably the 15th. We get a real tree so don’t want it hanging around too long.
Saw on Facebook that some people have had their trees up for weeks already!
I will accept December 1st as it’s actually December although we generally put ours up a couple of weeks before Christmas.
We don’t go mad on decorations, it doesn’t take long. Dp sort the tree out (cuts it to size and hacks off some of the lower branches, puts it in the stand etc), I put the lights on and then dc decorate the tree while I put out the other decorations. All done in about an hour and a half.

ShowOfHands · 30/11/2019 09:28

We won't do the tree yet as we also have a real one but the rest will go up.

Thorilicious · 30/11/2019 13:25

The tree is going up!

We're doing the upstairs tree and house decorations today, then main tree in living room tomorrow after I go buy some new decorations and lights etc.

YorkieTheRabbit · 30/11/2019 15:30

Just made the wreath for the front door. Tomorrow I’ll put some decorations up, but I haven’t got the tree yet, probably later on next week Smile

Baguetteaboutit · 30/11/2019 15:32

No. Too early for me. Next weekend, maybe.

Thorilicious · 30/11/2019 19:01

How's everyone doing? Stress levels have peaked and levelled out here...

Me!

I am going to the advent service at York Minster. I am not massively religious but it’s magical, the music is glorious and the atmosphere lovely. It is the start of my Christmas every year!

Then home to decorate two 🎄, probably with a glass of sherry.

stoplickingthetelly · 30/11/2019 19:22

Outside lights went up today and the artificial tree is up too with the lights on, but will do the baubles tomorrow morning- can’t be bothered now. A few other decs up too, but will sort wreath and garlands tomorrow as well. The real tree will go up next weekend probably. Been and got some new lights and baubles today too. Dh finally gave in and let me have coloured lights on the artificial tree, I’m beyond pleased excited. The real tree will still be classy though with warm white lights. I think I’m about a third of the way done.

CrowleysBentley · 01/12/2019 00:07

Yep, DS and DD (20 and 19), are moving the furniture around for me tomorrow, and then we'll get the decorations and tree set up.

ravenshope · 01/12/2019 08:10

Me!!
Sideboard ornaments and berry lights went up yesterday. Thinking of doing the tree today, just worried I might get fed up if too early. But it is advent!

ClashCityRocker · 01/12/2019 08:14

I put mine up yesterday. It's looking good but jesus the lights were a faff.

Next Christmas tree will definitely be pre-lit. Followed all the tips about wrapping them nicely around cardboard when putting them away last year. They still ended up a tangled mess that took the best part of an hour to sort out.

CeCeLaine66 · 01/12/2019 08:28

Done first half mid week (kitchen and hall) living room and outside lights being done today. Easier to do in stages as it takes hours. I usually wait until the 1st before even thinking about it but made an earlier start this year so I could get it all done by today.

stucknoue · 01/12/2019 08:38

Done! Girls handled it all this year whilst I drank gin (so did they I should add, they are over 18) 😁

BossAssBitch · 01/12/2019 15:38

DH and I picked up the tree yesterday morning and decorated it when we got back. It looks amazing next to the fire. Super cosy and festive but also tasteful, although I do love a retro tree, coloured lights and tinsel (but in someone else’s house Grin ) We put lights on the tree outside too. Feeling v Chrismassy this year.

DefinatelyAWeeGobshite · 01/12/2019 15:41

Our tree went up on Wednesday and we’re been dotting other decorations around since, I got a new swag for the fireplace so that went on today. MIL lives downstairs and her tree is going up today, I love Christmas!

HermioneWeasley · 01/12/2019 15:46

Done! Decorations all up, some Christmas cookies baked, advent calendars out this morning and breakfast was tear and share panettone in the shape of an Xmas tree. Currently on the sofa under a blanket watching the Lion, the witch and the wardrobe feeling very festive.

itsgettingweird · 01/12/2019 16:06

Tree went up today and the sideboard got decorated.

We also have our traditional Lego city artic world complete with train running around underneath the tree with Christmas tree and snowflake wall stickers to set the background.

Thorilicious · 02/12/2019 08:25

I just have to put the outside lights out that DH moans about each year. I wait till he's gone to work, and then do it so he can't stop me!
