Are your Christmas decorations already up?

If so, when did you put them up?

We have started, still got lots to put up. We started on Friday

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 25/11/2019 07:53

We usually put them up the last weekend in November or the first weekend of December depending on how the dates fall

Roselilly36 · 25/11/2019 07:53

We are usually 1 Dec for decs, I love to put them up, with a Sherri &music of course!

We watch its a wonderful life

We do have to pause for dh to cry for a bit (takes the whole weekend to do and ds boyfriend wants to come round this year due to the errrrrr debates we had last year)

PepsiLola · 25/11/2019 07:57

We will puts ours up next weekend. My DH works shifts so it's more when we can as a family.

The next weekend were al off is 21st/22nd which is too late by my book.

I take my tree down on 27th, as I just wanna clean up when Christmas is done. I know that is totally against the norm! I love the sense of declutter before new year

TheElfFellOffTheShelf · 25/11/2019 08:06

No. It's November. It's not Christmas yet. Christmas is ages away. The decs will go up mid December and come down on new year's day.

x2boys · 25/11/2019 08:10

No because it's November , I never understand peoplet that put Xmas decorations up in November and than take them down on Boxing day.

NO! BiscuitBiscuitBiscuitBiscuit

BiddyPop · 25/11/2019 08:20

No.

1st sign of Christmas will be some tinsel to wrap around mast of a boat next weekend (last day of autumn coaching before winter break) and a shoe on 6th December for St Nicholas Day.

But we won’t decorate until the weekend of 14th, I think. Perhaps the weekend of 7th, but life is pretty hectic still that weekend. In fact, it may even be one evening during the week of 16th - but no later than 21st.

BiddyPop · 25/11/2019 08:20

Dec’s all come down around 6th january, generally before back to school.

Bloodybridget · 25/11/2019 08:57

Oh @Trumpton I love your Sylvanians! Our DGD created a Sylvanian Nativity scene last year! She had king penguins as the Three Kings!

Jellyshoeswithdiamonds · 25/11/2019 09:11

Ordered a new tree, so that's in its box waiting for me to do on the weekend.

Last week I put up the garlands on the fireplace. Need to add more filling out with holly as have underestimated how big the garlands need to be.

Normally, our house is the last to be decorated but this year we are in a new house and we've made arrangements to go away for quite a bit running up to Christmas so if I leave it all until I get back it'll be chaos which is why I'm doing it in stages.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 25/11/2019 09:12

Ours don't usually go up until mid-December, though when we've had guests staying earlier in Dec we've put them up before, to make the house nice and Christmassy.

Little tree outside the front door goes up 1st Dec though.

Don't mind at all what anybody else does.

Nothing comes down until 12th night, January is dreary enough anyway. Can't understand people taking it all down even before NYE. I love the relatively relaxed but still Christmassy time between the day and New Year.

youcancallmequeenE · 25/11/2019 09:16

No. They'll go up next weekend on 1st Dec

AdalindMeisner · 25/11/2019 09:16

Not yet, they will be up 1st December. Started putting them up the first weekend of December after dd2 was born. So happens that this year it is the 1st. Does seem very early but we have things planned for every weekend leading up to Christmas. They come down on 2nd of January.

Bluesheep8 · 25/11/2019 09:42

NO. It's November. They will go up on the weekend before Christmas and come down the weekend after.

Bluesheep8 · 25/11/2019 09:44

It symbolises one of the problems with our society today..... people have no patience and need instant gratification.

I totally and wholeheartedly agree!

TiddyTid · 25/11/2019 09:53

Tree goes up 2 weeks before and come down NYE.

Littlebearstrousers · 25/11/2019 11:44

No, a few of our neighbours have though so DD(5) is itching to have ours up too. I will probably do it on the 2nd weekend of December so 6th/7th/8th which I think is still a bit too early as I normally do it a week or so later.
