Dh has been trying to get me to watch a fil for about the last 15 years. But neither of us can remember. I was reminded when he talked about 'pitch perfect' and I thought it had pitch in the title. For some reason I think it's about journalists but could be wrong.
Mners have never failed me!

Can you describe the looks, mannerisms etc of one of the actors/characters even though you may not remember their names?

Off tangent are you sure you haven't seen this film at 'the pictures' (cinema) or you wanted to see it at the cinema?
Or maybe you saw a trailer for it whilst watching another film at the cinema/pictures?
Or maybe that's where DH, a family member or friend saw it?

Bio dome
Jury duty
Van wilder
Euro trip
The man who knew too little (clearly not this but it’s hilarious!)

PenguinsOnParade · 25/11/2019 17:16

Weirdly you said it wasn't Fever Pitch but that and High Fidelity which you said you were thinking of were both written by Nick Hornby (the books they were based on anyway) so that could be where a bit of a crossover has happened? I'm probably clutching at straws now. LOL

Flimflamfloogety · 25/11/2019 17:16

Based on Zoolander type comedy and Wilson's I'd be inclined to suggest The Royal Tenebaums... But it's far wide of the other descriptions!

Could it be Dodgeball?

Aridane · 25/11/2019 17:30

John Cusack is in the film Adult World

Roussette · 25/11/2019 17:36

Have you searched on www.whatismymovie.com/?

pollywobble · 25/11/2019 17:38

Just because they popped into my head, They meet no criteria apart from being funny and having a vaguely suggestive title but I feel we are at that stage;
How To Get A Head in Advertising ?
Going Down

pollywobble · 25/11/2019 17:44

I missed the John Cusack clue-is it Pushing Tin?

Pitch Perfect?

I love this thread Grin

JaimeBronde · 25/11/2019 18:07

John Cusack's sister Joan was in High Fidelity & she was in
'In & Out'
The film is about a literature teacher accidentally outed as gay (by an ex student who is now a famous actor) but he doesn't think he is gay & denies it.
There are journalists in it too.

Serendipity

nowlook · 25/11/2019 20:35

Hudsucker Proxy?

Mid-nineties; smutty title; journalist featured...

nowlook · 25/11/2019 20:37

@JaimeBronde

In & Out sounds gloriously bad viewing 🤣

Sgtmajormummy · 25/11/2019 20:54

I think it’s Serendipity, too.

frazzledasarock · 25/11/2019 21:49

The paper boy

Now going to list all John Cussack movies 🤦🏻‍♀️

frazzledasarock · 25/11/2019 21:59

Adult world

Do you know what genre the movie was?

RoomR0613 · 25/11/2019 22:03

frazzledasarock

Male led silly comedy probably from the 90s. Thinks it might have something to do with journalism or similar profession.

OP strongly thinks that the title only contains two words possibly sounding something like Pitch Perfect (but isn't Pitch Perfect).

MyfanwyMontez · 25/11/2019 22:16

Hot Tub Time Machine?
